Hi Guys,

Just got my CLass 2A license 4 days back..

Really tempted to get a SW....

Can i just check if the top-box for SW is bigger than a X8? Does it comes with the bike or need to be purchased separately?

Can safely i said that it will cause less to maintain the SW than the X8?

Pls advise.. :cheeky:

Guys, I've a set of Polini Speed Control which is the variator set for SW available, I'll probably let it go at... SGD120? :cheeky:

It was installed by previous owner but I've changed back to SW's stock variator set the moment I took over the bike, reason being I'm using it for long distance riding and the stock set's lifespan is longer.

To be frank, I don't have much detail about it, all I know is when it was changed, the mileage was at 29000km, but at what mileage was it installed, I really don't know. To anyone who is interested can either PM or sms/call me at 91388725. Tks! :D

Note: No pics available at the moment

I don't blame people who doesn't show courtesy, they just didn't get taught on how to do so.

Another new SW rider on board. Welcome :)

Hi All,

Been following this thread for a while - i got my NEW Euro 400 SW on 19 October 2007, i using back my old reg number - so dont bother to try spot by number as it is a Gun metal Grey- and 2 things have happened :-

1. Original Mirrors got stolen in Johore at Pasir Gudang Port Gate car park.

Question : Has any one any idea whether the AM (after market) mirrors like RIZOMA or NAPOLEON are any better than the original Honda ones ?

2. The bike shop put the ERP thingamajig inside the right side glove compartment. It works and the bike looks better.

Question : Any of you guys tried this position and does SMOKEY (LTA wallas) have anything to say about this position ?

Just to let you know i'm using CASTROL Fully synthetic 10W - 50W and any of you guys using Semi-Synthetic or Mineral better do a change to fully synthetic quickly !!!

Thanks for any response.

Bros,

For running in, i need to use semi-synthetic EO for the first 3 servicing right? =)

Sensible_X8,

Running In - If you leave the original EO in the bike after 400 KM you will effectively be RUNNING OUT. That oil has more than likely been in there for more than 1 year and has been heated during pre-delivery tests / checks ! and the properties will have changed !! and all that metal shavings !!! Better change oil and filter early to Full Synthetic and change the whole lot again at 2000KM.

And oh yes ! Leave the engine idling speed at 1200 to 1300RPM, despite reading that others say to adjust it to 1000rpm. There is a reason for this ! The oil pump only works correctly at 1200rpm or more. That is a HONDA secret !!!

It's better to use mineral oil for running in your Silverwing.

running in i tought its best to use Mineral for 1st 3 .... on 4th then u change to semi / full syn.....

It should apply to any 2 wheelers....???

Bros,

If i go back to Boon Siew for first 3 servicing, will they use mineral oil? Or will they insist that i use syn oil??

And if i change the original horn to twin horn and hazard light, will it affect my warranty?

Do i need to go to Boon Siew in order for my warranty to be valid in the very first place?

Thanks, in advanced, for your time. =)

aiya..... actually any oil would do. our bike not like race bikes which engines are very delicate. our bike's engines are made of 'chao tee' these are meant to last. moreover u got the correct bike tat can really last.

i believe its best to take care of your scooter from the start be it will last or not.

if you don't take care, no matter how lasting it is also no use.

And does it means the bike you riding don't last?

tell us which bike you riding then, @ least we can stay away from it.

Nice talking to u. Hope u stop all this nonsence. U are wasting everybodys time reading your teachings.
