the course not reali hard..its just the assignments n reports submission date kinda abit tite...one after another..if the current report haven cleared or nid re-submission and the new one comes in, den u feel the syiokkk...kekeke..mostly materials based on your current workplace practises..onli the last report,interview n presentation to the lecturer abit stress..otherwise its all okay2...

hey guys. im a final year SP student, taking dip in civil engineering and one of the modules we have is workplace safety and health. we're taking the BCSS test this end july.

 

so, with that BCSS and the dip, where can i go?

Safety, not just standing there n ask people to work safely. I think they gotta do alot of presentations to the employees n contractors, come out with safety plans constantly, enforce it in the company etc. Bound to have alot of pressure. Can see some safety trainees in my company. But, all cho boh lan. Everyday study n project nia.

Ya, I agree that safety is not that easy. I'm currently in charge of HSES, need to convince technicians much older than me to change their working style is not easy. My company don't need to have a RSO but I reckon I shld try for it since I'm already doing the job.

What not easy? Its totally NO USE. hahaha. Unless the safety manager comes down himself everyday and look at their work, which i doubt will ever happen.

 

Well in my point of view, sometimes it's not that the older workers don't want to change la. It's just that sometimes it's just too impractical. When all these so called SOPs comes in, it literally takes up too much time n energy following & doing every single it, and in the end the 'Real' work on the field will tend to be neglected.

 

I think safety = knowledge in the 'real' work + morale and encouragements from company + safety trainings to enhance individual's safety awareness

 

But now what i see is safety = tonns of SOPs + if you don't follow you will be called in to get questioned + kenna mark

I was awarded a medical certificate from a private doctor and informed my senior project manager but he insisted to continue my work. I told him that I was really sick but he did not even care about it. So when I told him that I am leaving, he did not say anything. Instead, he engaged another foreign Safety Supervisor. Many times, he mentioned to me that he hired me just to be a mediator to MOM and LTA during the PGI. Well, till this date, I still unable to settle for a decent job. Any help....., thank you....

Hi bro, of courselah i was awarded with MC but the idoit pm don't understand. I think bangla will keep their MC and work till their ep expire.

 

That is why, most boss willing to hire 24 hrs workers than to employ the local because local can only work to the max. of 16 hrs but banglah could work till the clock spoilt. They always say..."Yes, yes and don't know when to stop the yes...that is why most bosses love them like white tiger in the zoo:cheers:

If I were you, & I found out that these workers work more than 72 hours per week, I report to MOM after left the company, and let them enjoy answering to MOM.

FYI this yr's intake for Spec Dip in WSH is already full.SP and NP wont be taking in any more students.So those trying their luck have to wait till next yr.N boy am I glad I took it a long time ago..the 1st batch,to be exact.For budding WSHOs,I'd recommend u to go 4 it.Give it yr best shot.N for those who dun qualify for the course,take the WPLN test 1st followed by the bridging course.It's a slightly longer route to the Spec Dip but hey,life's not without its challenges.N also for those who only have BCSS certs,go n take the Advanced Cert in WSH (Safety Coordinator).The course structure is similar to that of the Spec Dip.If u can complete the Advanced Cert,im sure the Dip is peanuts to u
