Talk to the SISO guy, he said just leave both Proposer and Seconder blank and the Secretariat will manage it.

Let me know if you still face problem.

Hi,

Just a curious question to ask, with so many people joining the safety courses and aspiring to be a safety personnel, does anyone think that there will be a over-supply of safety personnel in the future, leading to a pay drop?

The current demand for safety personnel is most likely due to the govt change in regulations that workplace with more than a certain amt of ppl need a safety officer, hence pushing up the demand and subsequently the pay. In 2 yrs time, with all the safety personnel coming through, how much will the pay drop?

Now with just a safety cert in WSH, ppl can gt up to 2+ K in pay.....will the pay bubble burst with more safety personnel coming thru?

BCSS & Formwork safety courses are for supervisors. It is actually not a qualification for even Safety Supervisors which is why they state Supervisor safety Course. But because previously there wasn't any "qualifications" for Safety supervisors, many companies take on those who have BCSS.

With the WSQ courses now available, I guess the cert in WSH would qualify one as a Safety Supervisor although the WSH Acts & Regulations does not have any Safety Supervisors. The minimum is safety Coordinators.

If you'ere not sure how important WSHO is, then I guess that you are not in the industry, whether marine, construction or oil/petrochemical cos even the bangalah knows. Either that, or you are too lazy to go thru this thread's previous posts.

Fire Safety Manager course is a "good to have" course for WSHO, but not as much as ECO especially in the construction industry. In thr manufacturing, maybe.

If you're working towards a "Safety" career, I guess you're taking the wrong courses.

Hi

Is there any significant pay or career difference for degree vs diploma in safety? Some advice from RSO is that with a safety degree you can conduct lectures for safety where a diploma cant, Any other such encounters/experience?

hi guys,

this is a very sincere msg am typing here. I have abt 7 mths to finish my Ns. Currently am 23 years old. i have already attained a diploma in civil eng from singapore poly. during my study of course, i attained a safety supervisor cert accredited from MOM. I remember that my lecturere said that i can start getting a pay structure of $3k with that kind of cert. But that was 2 years ago. after doing a little homework around, i realise that the cert is no longer just supervisor nowdays but is accompanied with saftey coordinator. so you see there have some changes.i have decided to work under safety for my future careers. i need enligthment in this. i am considering taking WHO safety and also OIl and Petrochemical Safety as well. i am planning to work myself way up all the way to auditor level or any higher if there is. everywhere they are asking for experience. after ORD, wondering where to start of. aiming to earn about $7k a month. pls help me out friends :)

hmmm...

Not to spoil ur mood, but 7k, u may to wait for say 5-10yrs 1st....

With a BCSS and without experience, there are alot of banglas, indian, PRC already...

But like wat u said regarding the safety coordinator, its now known as the advance diploma in WSH.... N if u get that cert, without experience, its difficult to get into this line... N if u're lucky, u may land a job in safety, but dun expect a salary of 3k or above for a start...

If u really wanna work ur way up to auditor level, wat i suggest that since u have a diploma in civil engineering, u go straight for the specialist dip, get a job in safety, get urself some experience, get registered with MOM (at the same time, get a degree)... Plus a few more yrs of experience, u may be within ur goal....

Its not easy, but if u got the will, there's a way....

Not to spoil your Mood too Tombros. You're only a dip holder only without a single yr experience summore. If you aiming for 7k. Which is a Senior safety officer pay, I got to say dude you're dreaming please wake up!!! Sorry to say that. As prankster say, Now adays company looking for Experience person to do the job, Most of the company don't waste money hired SS or SC they can simply Send those Bangala or indian or china man go Coordinator course and Do the Safety Coordinator job which is much cheaper than hired a Local singaporean. IF you really lucky to go in as a SS without experience the company will start you off mostly 1.3 to 1.6K only... Not more than 1.8K for sure.. Excuse me and u asking for 7K?
