Specialist dip in Workplace Safety & Health ===> WSH-Officer

 

Advance Certificate in WSH ===> WSH-Coordinator

 

Certificate in WSH ==> Known as? In WSH-council their don't known it as WSH-Supervisor. Then This Cert in WSH known as??

 

 

Certificate in WSH ==> WSH Representatives.. WSH Rep. dats was told by ma lecturer...

Quite a reputable company with proper safety procedures.... That's wat i heard....

 

But on mainland, i still think Bov*s has the best safety systems implemented in their company.... Anybody has lobang for bov*s??

hi bros,having read the whole thread and managing to understand a bit about what a safety officer does im just asking if im able to join the outing to understand more about this job?

 

coz currently am still serving the nation so am having an open mind about my future career.

 

basically and honestly i have almost zero knowledge on what a safety officer does but am hoping to meet up to know what its all about,

 

so can i join the outing? coz i graduated from SP with an engineering dip so im pretty interested in going bak to SP to further my studies and hence am hoping to learn from u guys what this job is all about.

bov*s?? hahahaha..:lol: used to werk as a subcon wit them...can onli say its almost e same as normal ahk bro,they divided into 2 parts commercial n pharmaceutical,usually pharma pay higher,no ot,they werk almost e time on site..wakakak..so u still want it?? hahahha...e onli benefit is when u complete 1 yr contract u get 3+1 pay, its contract basis...last 2mnths they need safety..but for now dun tink so...coz i got a fren in there as a safety...every company sms got pros n cons ahk...used to werk at rec project oso ,for me standard oso not as i expected..

After reading wat u said bout Bo*is, i really cannot belif.... Coz i heard so much about them, about how good they are, how strict they are, how well managed they are....

the only thing is dat they got power to stop werk..i mean really stop werk...even the CM n PM cant say anything if its really unsafe to werk...:lol: dats 1 thing good bout them..same2 as FW n M+..

The above mention companies, can stop work even if its just bad housekeeping. As for the place i'm in, we dun even have such a power. PM haven sign permit also work like nobody's business. Thats how bad it is over here. &*(^%##$*&(^%&^

Previously in industry terms when u talk safety , the construction , chemical and the shipyard/marine industries only came to mind . Ever since MOM made changes to the Factory Registration scheme in late 2008 , u suddenly have something like 14K over registered factories (many of them SMEs) suddenly compelled to have a Risk Management scheme with many of them turning to qualified safety officers and work safety firms to provide this service .

 

This profession is definitely one with growth potential with a wide base .

I will organise following safety courses in January 2010 – 3x Sunday

a) Building Construction Safety Supervisor course (BCSS) on 10, 17 and 24 Jan 2010

b) Oil Petrochemical Industry Safety Supervisor course (OPIS) om 17, 24 and 31 Jan 2010

 

After Mendaki subsidy: Below are the nett price you need to pay:

a) For Building & Construction Safety Supervisor

- Above 40s after subsidy only pay S$23.00

- Below 40s, after subsidy pay only S$86.00

 

b) For Oil Petrochemical Industry Safety Supervisor

- Above 40s after subsidy only pay S$27.00

- Below 40s, after subsidy pay only S$105.00

 

 

This course mainly open to Muslim but those who're non-muslim still can apply subject to quota availabality.

Goodness gracious.... How do u cope there man?

 

I at here almost feel like givin up already.... Nowadays, i just do my own stuffs... Dun really bother much on site anyways.... Coz i'm from consultant too... Attached to tis company....

 

Much of paperworks all throw to me... ^*%^#$%@^&^

 

Nowadays, RSO ask for idea, i aso keep quiet, if i raise out idea and he thinks its good, than it becomes my job again....

 

so far so gd.only at certain projects im able to cope..i was once at a project in downtown orchard for 6mths n the S/Cs from the jap coy were yaya papaya type.at first they were GEREK ppl but during the last mth of my tenure there, they started to show their true colours.n the worst part is the WSHo,who's from my coy and an Indian fella (Indian-born SG pr) was not helping me at all.i helped him alot but he backstabbed me.he was the bo-chap type but acted as if he cared.i thought we were supposed to complement each other but turns out it was not what i expected.n maybe,my office told me that i might be posted there again for a mth or so 'cos the WSHO is going on a holiday.WHAT A PREDICAMENT!!!!!!

Frankly speaking,

 

FT officers are really bringing down the standards in safety. Be it officer or S/Cs... And not oni that, they aso bring down the "salary"

 

Really wish that MOM can properly pick Officers to be registered and not just any FT wif the certificate.

 

I'm not being racist or wateva, i do admit that there are SOME who can really perform.... But most of them really CMI...

Wow the risk assessment market is good? Hmm rather than sit at home and twiddle my thumbs for my next assignment- You say 14,000 over factories, wow. I dont know how to call them one by one. Hahaha
