Its a problem ah? Because my bike, the brake pads are always touching the disc, but very, very lightly. Like feather touch. Then when apply brake, then it will really "grip" the disc. I thought this is normal for older bikes?

The thing is uh bro, morning b3fore riding, when i try to free spin the rear-wheel, it can be done. But after riding for example from jurong to queensway uh, at the traffic light i try to like push2 the bike forward, very hard. so when i park the bike and then try to free spin again, cannot sial. so i tried to throttle, the wheel will spin and the moment i close the throttle, the wheel oso stop like immediatley. nver like free spin a little oso. Then after that i leave the bike for two hours lidat and come back, can free spin again. so i dunno wat the problem is..

I know your problem sial. Its either your brake pads are those cheap ones which sticks and never let go when hot or your caliper pistons jammed sial. Either change to better brake pads sial or get your caliper fixed.

yrs is a new bike. just go to yamaha care centre for a check.
Might want to read properly first what TS posted. His bike is already been modded with a rear disc brake. Going to Yamaha care centre is like suicide.

I think the problem lies with not the brake pad or the brake pump, but rather the disc brake or the caliper itself.

First, you check whether your disc is dead straight. Because when you riding and use the brakes ah, the disc will expand due to heat. So even if there is a slight warp in the disc, it may cause the disc to get jammed in the already tight clearance of the brake pads and the brake disc.

If it is okay, then you got to check your caliper. If you know how to do it yourself, go ahead. If not, go to the mech. As for me, on and off, i will remove my caliper from the brake disc and pads. Then use a toothbrush and scrub scrub and clean my brake caliper. Also, when i see a moving part, i will try to oil it. Its because the "tube thing", doesnt pop back when i release the brake. So i will try to clean and put some singer oil around that "tube thing to push the brake pads to the disc". I think its called a piston? After many uses, the brake caliper will be filled with tons of brake dust.
