Hi, you should just follow your manual. The builders will know best. Google it!

However, many here would cut down the oil change reccomendation by half because topping up of engine oil here is not well practised.

I would say oil is the most important in servicing because repairing an engine is pricey.

If your ride has an oil filter, many here practise changing at 5000 KM.

If not, 3000 KM.

Some even change at 1000km

My phantom had to replace at 1500KM because by then, 30% of the oil volume is mia

 

Generally, city riding is more detrimental to the engine than highway riding so you might want to consider that.

Check your dipstick when you are free.

You should use the 'feeling'. Most of the time, i will change my oil when i 'feel like it'. Most of the time, its just above 1000km. When engine start to feel rough and loud, i will change.

I think the point of the thread is to seek how much servicing interval can be extended or even postponed all together? :)

Anyone can ride a bike. Being a biker, is a state of mind.
