Honda CB400F - Four cylinder engine

Honda calls it an ignition control module. Kawasaki calls it an igniter. Suzuki calls it a CDI unit, Yamaha calls it an Igniter Unit. They all refer to the same thing, just different manufacturers using different terminology.

This thread is so funny.. Theres no such thing as icm on a ybr.. Icm, cdi, tci, idi, aci, or whatever "i", is totally a different thing.. Cdi is cdi.. No such icm exist on ybr.. Ybr no inline 4, no map, no injector, no o2, no funny sensor for icm to control.. Ybr is just a simple single cylinder bike...

all i know is that different terms used..just to confuse the user..

so at the end of the day you go back to the bike shop for the part..

i remember...one item..for my work..

a spring insertion tool ..cost us$500...thats what the coy calls it and is selling this special tool to chinese coy which bought the technology...yes we say need this to assemle the end product....

no pictures just description...yes need this or else have a tough time to do job...

in te end the chinese coy bought it...and was furious because they just paid us$500 or a spring hook.

haha...so you see all the diferent terminology is just to confuse user and ask for high price.s..imho

whos right whos wrong?? you decide..

just like once i broke a tiny e-clip of a tool....the distributor of the tool says $15...but hardware shop says 50 cents..who is the honest one?

Yamaha calls it an Igniter Unit.

My Yahama YBR125 service and parts manual calls it the C.D.I. Unit Assembly, not an igniter unit.

After reading this, I just have to post. It's not that you don't wish to argue. You can't argue anymore because you were wrong! There is such thing such as icm, ecm, etc.

Haha. Next time just admit that you were wrong la, no need to cover up.

Anyway, thanks for cracking me up. Funny how people's ego can be huge.

Im may not be up to his standard but im pretty sure you didnt read my post carefully especially post 25.. Ego?, hahas, at the end of the day, its up to the rest to decide.. Anyway, i didnt say that these icm, ecm didnt exist.. I said that its NOT ON YBR.. ignition control module was introduce to replace the mechanical contact point.. Later on CDI takes over ICM for most motorcycle engines.. If you realised, the bikes he listed down with icm(with parts number listed) and other stuff is actually an OLD manufactured bikes.. If you want i can listed down all the bikes with cdi as well.. Anyway,im sure most people will look for cdi instead of icm.. Yamaha??.. Honda?? Suzuki??.. Kawasaki??..
