I wanna buy a commuter but something fun and with a little style. I wanna get a cruiser like a Steed or Dragstar, 400 engine size, and really do it up bobber style. But then maxi scooters a very convenient and also fun to ride.

Kinda very conflicted on this one. When I was living in Korea I had both (sportster and tmax) but that isn't really an option for me now to have both.

Would like the advice of experienced bikers in Singapore to help me decide.

You mentioned commute, so storage of a maxi would be useful and convenient.

Anyone can ride a bike. Being a biker, is a state of mind.

well u can still have both cos i see that u are looking at 400cc and below..... perhaps u can get a crusier of 400cc and a maxi which is less than 400cc using it as weekend and slowly build up your bob way... eg downtown 300cc or 250s..... in that way perhaps u can enjoy best of both world :)

Fixed up Maxi's are cool... but not thing really... I'm thinking of just sticking to one... I think I'll just keep my eye open for a nice deal on either maxi or cruiser.. and we'll let fate decide... haha

jonomo...how much is ur budget? mayb some of us can recommend u to a maxi scoot. for commuting purposes, a maxi scoot is the way to go. i actually tot of getting a cruiser as well...but after having so much storage space with a maxi, i dont think i can live with a cruiser.

I"m thinking of paying $3K for a scooter or $4K for a cruiser... it doesn't have to be something fancy like a Tmax.. just something that does the job... with a decent amount of COE left on it of course!

It all depends on age, years of riding.for work or leisure and your partner. When I was single, I had many bikes and of course speed and manouevarability was important but as age catches up, I wanted ease of use and driveability played their parts.. I guess you are that age---- mid 30s to late 30s. I have had cruisers, superbikes and the last 5 years had many scoots.

We can type until the cow come home and it is a question which will never be answered. It si you preference and decision. for 5 years I have ridden scoots and recently got the Burg650. now itchy backside want a cruiser like 650 yamaha or honda shadow 750 again.
