Hey guys, i'm riding a CBR 900 RR... wonder i belong to this thread hehehe...

Well seems this thread started not long ago, OK hmmm i have a technical question to ask:

I bought this bike about 1.5yrs ago, all along its fine, i mean not perfect but issues was solve eventually.

recently i realise my gear shife was abit on the hard side, especially on the lower gears, wonder what would be the problem be....

i was think it might be the wear n tear of the gears itself (hopefully not), brought to mechanic n was told to change clutch plate which i conform to.... but the problem still persist..... its not a very big deal for a piece of 10 yr old bike but i would like to make my ride beter....

Anyway, dose this thread goes for outing??? i dont mind joining once to seek out more info

thanks a million to whom ever can give me a ray of light.

:cheer: :cheer:

i oso think too thin. i've heard -30w and lower/thinner might cause clutch slip.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

I perfer 15w50 for 1l bike. and 10w40 for 600cc bike.

taken off the cbr600rr manual, temperature referring to climate and not engine:

its almost exactly the same as stated on the TA150 manual, which is a 150cc 2-stroke. i think its the same for all bikes. (disclaimer: refer to own manual).

essentially can tell that the number on the left i.e. 10w-40 and 15w-50, the lower the number the more suitable the oil for extremely low temperatures. our climate no need 10, 15 would do just fine, as the graph shows.

as for the number on the right ie 10w-40 or 20w-50 then the higher the number the more suitable for higher temperatures. the graph shows that w-30 a bit risky considering our climate; we do have temperatures exceeding 30C. plus any lighter/lower than w-30 will cause clutch slip as i mentioned.

this is very true...the numbers are actually temperature of youe climate.. for those living in cold countries, so that their oil wont freeze or in other words thicken...

speed is nothing without control!...

with greater power comes greater responsibilities!...

my bike can do that also... when throttle high rpm then close it will backfire... so if go high rpm must change higher gear then can close to avoid backfire..

all happened after i changed my meter. Tried changing EO and stuff already, trying to ride it for longer while before going back to loois.
