Just have to wait for Supplementary Regulations, entry forms..

Will update all once I get news, registration to be done at SMSA down at Maxwell House.... AFTER I get confirmation news... I also can't wait leh...

Well actually come to think of it, I jumped into the frying pan when I only had about 10 track sessions or so. At that time it was only to challenge myself to do that something in life, that you think it's so far out that it's only a dream.

 

I was stuck at 1:48s all practices no matter what I tried, but during the race, it's like.....REVELATION! My best lap was dropped to high 1:46s. I not saying that it's all 'Red Mist' riding, but it's true what 5th Rider says, pitting yourself against someone better than you does make you improve. (Albeit someone slightly faster la, not like' 6-secs-a-lap-faster' kind)

 

So to you guys out there who's been having a real kick riding fast at track-days and have wondered how you'll fare in a local race? Have confidence in yourself and jump into the 'frying pan', you'll realise it's not that HOT.

SMSA has received hard copy confirming all dates. First race is Malaysia Race Series, international event. OPEN to foreigners but will not come under the SMSA championship. Novice and Expert classes. OFFICIAL TIME KEEPING, 2 DAY EVENT,full qualifying session on SAT, SUN race. Non qualifiers can start on SUN from the last row.

The Speed is within yourself, but it may take another competitor to help you break new ground.

 

If you want to race, just do it. Don't delay because of "slow times, mistakes, other riders out there faster, preserve novice status... etc" Because, while you are pondering, others are out there improving. ALL riders worry about the same things, and we are all still competing. Don't forget, no one is unbeatable and there is always someone faster, someday. Even world champions falter.

correct me if i'm wrong...so this april 27/28 Malaysia Race Series will not include the underbone 4 stroke open race? the first race for 4 stroke underbone open will be in the clubman championship in june? i'm sure there a re a few underbone riders here wanting to take part but unclear if there will be the underbone category this april....which i doubt if i read the first post of this thread correctly. 5thrider?

Catagories for both Malaysian RACE Series(MRS) and CLUBMAN series will stand. Difference is MRS events may be open to non-SMSA members as this is an international event and includes OFFICIAL TIME-Keeping.

 

Just recap:

 

1. Underbone 4 stroke

 

2. Under 400cc (125-250 2-stroke, 400cc 4-stroke)

 

3. Over 400cc OPEN class

 

Entry Fee RM150. Entry Forms available online SOON at this WEBSITE

Entry fees payable at SMSA or directly at Johor Circuit.

 

For prizes and awards, please wait for supplementary regulations(S.R.). Thanks for patience.

Some shops selling tyres at crazy prices... like $360(120/180) onwards... Qualifying and Race 1 set enough... Qualifying is 20mins, do 4-5 quick laps enough. Race 12laps + 1 warm-up lap + 1 Sighting lap + 1 warm down lap.

 

Under 25laps the tyres will hold.... Probably cover more ground during 3 hour trackday.

AS JOHOR MRS got no NOVICE class. SMSA will do the classification for OPEN class NOVICE riders on site and they'll receive their prizes then.
