Extra fee for new 2b licence holders?

Hi guys, i heard from a friend that a shop said that there is a new rule for new riders who juz got their 2b licences. The shop said that my friend had to pay an extra fee of $150 if getting a new 1st hand bike. Anyone heard of such a thing?

It's the extra $150 you gotta pay for your insurance if you're using Mitsui. It only applies to all probation plate riders.

I think you are right.

$150 so they can buy carrots and make carrot juice. Good for health.

 

Seriously, just an excuse to earn money.

If Mitsui's policy, then can just state insurance premium higher for Mitsui.

hmmm .... read frm another thread that frm 2007 onwards insurance for new rides increase by 150 .... is the 150 for the insurance or to make carrot juice? keke

yup...from mitusi, $150 extra for p plate riders....

and it applies to even 2nd or 3rd hand bikes......

In the past there wasn't such a thing, now i tink the new riders have to fork out more juz to get their ride..

i've js checked wif a few shops.. they all hv e additional $150 for new riders..

applies to all bikes..

1st hand, 2nd hand or even 3rd hand..

ok i heard from my bike shop.. that if u are going to take mitsui's plan, they gonna charge additional $150 for P-Platers.. meaning.. its mitsui who is asking for the $150.. not the bike shops...

 

if i am not wrong.. income also got this type of thing wad.. but income's premium is $500 leh.. not $150 thats why i can say 80% of 2b biker's insurance are from mitsui.. cos its cheap.

$150 is not for the IU, it's the new premiums the insurance companies are asking for...

$500 for NTUC? chialat....

I dunno whats the fuss about the insurance yr are talking abt. However I am suprised that Mitsui and NTUC charges so much. 1st timer always find mitsui, cos their insurance can 'luan luan lai'. The bike shop ppl are expert in this. I nv paid more than $300 for the past 5 years of my 5 yr old riding experience. However I must stress that all are 3rd party insurance.

 

Last but not least, for ppl who wanna take up with Mitsui pls be advised that when you kenna accident, a lot of ppl will call u non-stop trying to find out if u right or wrong, wanna claim onot blah blah blah. Next, they got no balls to insure you after yr 1st accident till yr case is cleared.

 

Till now, I nv claim or been claimed by any insurance cos it is a d@mn tiedious task and not worth the effort. Its is being compared to using yr left hand go 1 big round to dig yr right nose.

wah its only recently tt they implemented this right? cos im 20 when i registered my insurance last august, riding TA150 and i paid 300 plus.. was i chopped? dun tell me next year i gotta pay more if im keeping the same bike..
