yeah..congrats to the Lions of Singapore..u did us proud..wif this win,i dare say dat we,Singaporeans have the best team in South East Asia..cannot win World Cup also nevermind..at least we r the best in the region..looking at the average age for our current team,we definately have a good future in soccer..Upz!!!

erm....with only 2 wins in this tournament (beating Laos 11-0 & Thailand 2-1, in which the penalty decision was rather controversial), I still think the Lions has much room for improvement before being the best team in SEA. if u can see yesterday's game, we are lucky to get the breakthru from Amri and some heroic defend acts from Md Noh & Lionel.

but nevertheless, we have a good future in the strikeforce with Alam Shah, Amri n Indra and the tireless midfielders like Riduan, Jiayi. My only worry is the defenders, not to say that they are no good. but can see clearly that Aide looked kinda lost yesterday, Precious is too heavy to catch-up with the Thais....with horrid defence like yesterday game, it could have been an easy 2,3 goals for the opponents. lucky for Singapore, if Thai strikers were to be on target, they can say goodbye to the cup.

did i say the word luck here?? hehe...

no comments.. haha.

i wud rather say no more stamina for the three Thai players who were around Amri when he shot the equaliser.

at 80th minute (and remaining 10-15% of energy level left), who wud expect Amri to hav a crack to the goal. i think the Thai keeper are oso tired to make a dive. tot he need the balance energy for the penalty shoot-out.

indra was super unprofessional not to mention that mustifiq guy...

unbelieveable seeing that swipe off the thai guy!

imagine trying to help the guy up in all fairness & having bad sportsmanship ruin all the pofessionalism.

dam sia suay if you ask me, nothing to be proud of cos most "valueable"players are not of singapore origin i suspect.

don't expect a "good job team singapore" from me cos not only do i feel disgraced, i also do not find much pride in our "team singapore" football/soccer team!

pui....! if you ask me! eh come to think of it you didn't ask me so don't take it to heart!

woo hoo!

looking for drz parts, any parts will do!

i agree wif u..our team muz improve on areas like defending,finishing,etc..but wif Raddy around,i think we r in good hands..

luckwise, all teams will need luck in games..be it in scoring a goal or defending..especially in a final where its so tight and nobody wants to lose.

but im sorry to disagree wif u on Spore not being the best team in SEA.i firmly believe dat winning the cup means dat we have the best team..winning only 2 games during the whole tournament, yes but dats the format of the whole tournament..no doubt that the Thai team is good but they could not score given the chances to them n in football,if u dun score,u dun win.

ASEAN Cup is over n i want to enjoy my team being the best in SEA..cheers to all!!!

jus wondering , if without our PRs player , would we still be able to make it ?

i believe we will still make it..if u were to ask me,benett, precious and dickson were disspointing..only mustafic n jiayi were ok..and its only ok..sumtimes i wonder y choose 'juz ok' PRs..they should give citenzenship to really good players n not 'juz ok' ones..

Yes, that's the difference between Singapore and Thailand, a Champion and a loser. You can play the best football but in the end if you don't score with the chances you don't win, and when you don't win you're a loser.

Of the PRs, I think only Mustafic was really much of a 'special' player. He is the backbone of the midfield.

The rest of the PR players I am sure we can replace with locals.

Agreed. His contribution has make the job for the defence much more easier. Seeing him play reminds of Patrick Vieira during his Gunners season :cheer:

Well, the rest....

Jiayi - reminds me of Goh Tat Chuan (always fit and creative). not that hard to replace him except that this guy seems not to know the word TIRED. but at least Sharil Ishak wud be an ideal guy to replace him.

Precious - reminds of Lim Tong Hai (good at aerial challenge but weak on ground play)

Benett - kinda pity him coz left-back is not his fav position. his contribution will be great in centre back.

Dickson - similar to Benett, seems like out-of position in this tournament. perhaps he is better player if were to partner with Agu Casmir. easily replaceable with Riduan :thumb:

it's juz a mere comparison. it's difficult for the LIONS to win the cup without these PRs. they may not be good players but their contribution on the field is superb :thumb:

and of coz, all this woudn't happen if they hav no support from the rest of the LIONS

wat is there to shame, dude? :giddy:

It's been years since we lose 4-0 to Malaysia and I'm sure history won't repeat itself....at least, not in National Stadium anymore!!

:btw: yes, they are foreigners initially but now, they own S'pore citizenship now and they ought to play for the LIONS. why waste the talent, right? anyway S'pore has always been dependent on foreign stuffs to survive till today....from natural resources to economy and now sports

Why not ronaldinho or beckham? nah, when come to playing for country, I think they are such a disappointment. see what happen in the last World Cup. I wud rather settle for Abbas Saad rather than these 2 superstar (one wud be a Hollywood celebrity soon).

erm...did u noe who Abbas Saad is? hehe...

doubt the younger ones know him.. michael vana.. heh heh heh..

I'm a cantankerous lugubrious weirdo. Enraptured by stone walls. Demented by love. Disparaged by my own soul. Besieged by languor. Suffered from acute distress triggered by terminal boredom and elucidation of rhodonderons and deciduous seedlings. Searched for serenity amidst the chaos but failed miserably.

Someone also said earlier about foreigners...look at those big soccer nations, like france...u think Zidane was originally french? vieira wasn't originally french as well. portugal's Deco is not portuguese born either.

Alot of countries in the world are now becoming cosmopolitan, like Singapore....so foreigner footballers are quite common.
