bought a street legal leo vince sbk slip on type r for my new bike. Since leo vince has a good reputation before, i decided to try from

Akra to leo.

 

I paid a 1.4++ for it hoping it sounds nice even tho it is st legal. I was hoping for that mild deep sound which makes leo special. After waiting for 10days, it finally came. After fixin it, i asked for the legal paper work and suprisingly, the distributor told me they had to seal the end can to the mid pipe and it will be permanently sealed to avoid tempering. What the heck? If ididnt want to seal it, there will be no legal papers given. Lan lan, they sealed it uup for me.

 

After starting the bike, the sound was horrible. It sounded like a fart beneath a dog's axx!!

It was quieter than my original pipe and worst, i cant remove it all. Removing the stupid seal will land me a modification fine by lta as infd by the distributor. What the hell?? Why was this not communicated to the consumers???

 

All of us buy an exhaust for looks and importantly its sound. Particularly when we go tracking and touring, we can remove the kat or silencer. Now i cant even do that. !!! My akra distributor dont even have a seal wen i bought 3 years back for my r1!!! Why leo ???

 

Why waste my Money on a 1.4k pipe which i cant even do a simple

Mod if i wanna travel up to malaysia. Piece of crap.

 

For all consumers out there, beware of leo vince exhaust. Dun waste your effort and money for this brand. It sucks !!!!

Actually this was quite recent from LTA. All new street legal exhausts have to be sealed to prevent from tampering. I have seen a few so far from Arrow to Yoshi. Its not only targeted at LVs.

 

As to why they dun make it public....I have no answer to that.

 

From the 'winds' (news), they are gonna setup a mini LTA in every inspection centers. If they do, all illegal parts are screwed!! Then again, this info not confirm hor dun quote me on this.

Its consumer's fault for failing to do their 'homework' b4 committing into e purchase of e item.. Period.. As for e shop, they r not obligated to tell u cos its street legal n nd to adhere to e lta requirements.. But of coz out of courtesy, they shud have inform u...

no more illegal parts means..... no more aftermarket accessoriess and upgrades, no more business related to bikes, no more sales, no point modifying a bike, no point buying a bike, more shop close down , loss of jobs, no income, no food, no shelter!!!!!!!!

 

this is vehicular discrimination in the making... wiping out all bikes... sooon i tell u , imagine look wat happened to sentosa.

There are still things that one can modify legally. Look under the LTA website.

the seal is to ensure that the catalytic convertor is still in place, and not tampered with.

 

if the new exhaust is without a catalytic convertor, there will be no seals. this is across the board for all brands, not just LV.

Ya lor......not all parts are illegal. I dun think this is only targeted at bikes only. Cars are also in it too.

 

Its usually the minority that does illegal stuff....so the majority of the population are penalized. Its happening everywhere in Singapore. Even in the Health Care industries.

Of course when u ride in spore, i also dun wanna kena saman. I will fix the cat and silencer for sure!! Im talking whrn we go riding at malaysia and wants to apprrciate than wonderful sound snd power. Now all of us cant !!!!

Then either you use stock or buy race can lor. I mean it the LTA regulation, not the seller. I think if given a choice, the seller will not want to do this as well, as it will affect their business also.

silencer cannot take out? that's something new..

 

so far IIRC, the seal is only attached to the cat pipe. silencer/baffle shouldn't have any seals on it, other than your usual circlips/screws to secure it.

Please voice your anger with the LTA as they are the govern body that implement the rules.

 

The new rules implemented by LTA applies to ALL EXHAUST BRAND when the original catalyzer is removed.

....anyway, this thread is to alert those bikers who are planning to use st legal system in spore. Dun waste your money. Might as well buy online from ebay (half the price) and when u wanna go track or touring, just fix it in and off u go.

 

Although i dun blame any shops, but at least consumers have to be alerted of the seal before they purchase. Dun fall into the trap....

Bro, actually I dont see any big issue. You still can remove the silencer right? It the same as before. Just one more seal to seal up the mid pipe to the original header side. I dont think you will touch that area also.

Blue thing is the stupid leo vince metal seal with cables warp around the end cAn spring. ugly like shxx..!

 

I dun mind not removing the silencer. Its the Kat(catalyser) positioned in the mid pipe which can be removed (obviously now cant because of the stupid seal)... The kat makes the sound more worst than my original exhaust.
