praise to allah

insyallah when my baby is born, my bike has been fully paid for.

so its really not hard to set aside $1300 per year for rd tax and insurance

$100 per month for maintenance

its sure will be hard if i were to say "upgrading to a car. family commitments. baby coming soon."

and

"wife make noise"

hah! damn. imo to me thats a sorry state to be in as a man.

If got the passion, it should not be an issue.

Tell your wife that your R1 is still cheaper than a Chery QQ to run and maintain.

If bike got problem, what more a car, which most people want to get after they start a family eventhough they can get by without.

Hehehe mcm faham.

Dats y i say ur wife muz understand ur passion... B4 u get married, she already know ur passion for bike n can accept u, y after married then forbid u ?... Sometimes we as a man have to see e faults in us n rectify it rather tgan pointing fingers at others... There muz b reasons y ur wife forbid or make noise, else it wnt happen dat way :)

nar, i see it as lack of passion already.

its usually an excuse. heart already wants a car. it only need to find some excuse for it.

come on. i see this routine time and time again.

but if u really could afford then good for u.usually for those group they would have both big car and big bike. since they could really afford it.

sad case is for those who cant afford, think they can afford then go get a car.

good luck to you then. ot life is for you. juz so one could please thier butt to sit comfy in a car to go work. hah!

another excuse would be, "its for the baby"

damn the baby would not even remember it. even if the child would be in primary sch, all child wants to run around. once the child hit secondary sec, that teen would not even want to go out with thier parents.

I agree, mindset thinking having a car = upgrade from bike. Chances are the car would be a 2nd hand Evo or a Lancer.

Its probably just a self image issue rather than a practical one.

I would get a simple Altis. The only reason why i got a bike is because i cannot afford a car. Yet.

hmmm, i wouldnt consider getting a car and upgrade. I got my car first b4 my bike. Bike just an alternative mode of transport plus that it is more fun to ride (despite the discomfort of dressing up armour gear etc.) but dangerous.

All in all, you have to weight the pro and cons for both and decide for yourself and/or family.

You might wanna try a dealer around Bukit Merah Lane 2 that area. A lot of dealers. Me and my dad bought from Southern Motors. If u go though dealer, paperwork will be done by them, just need license, IC, enough cash (not card). Not sure if u need a guarantor though because i didnt need one when i got my bike.

However if u buy bike direct from other people without dealer, paperwork has to be done by you and the seller, which im not sure abt, and you will have to thoroughly check the machine before agreeing to buy it. Thats why for a first timer its better to buy from a dealer, since you only need to worry about checking if the machine can work properly, and then bargain for a better price later.
