I check with my mech and he say that the hole is all by default. Can anyone riding a gen 5 cfm that with me? Mine's a stock end can. That the hole is so that the rain can come out if it goes in.

One more thing. Non exhaust related. Anyone have this encounter whereby engine ticks when it's hot. 80 degree onwards. My mech told me its shim. Meaning have to do valve clearance. Another school of thought would be that cam tensioner have to change. I am taking the latter one cos mths previous owner just did valve clearance few month back

I'm having the same problem as you. Although mine happens about 95 degrees. I did valve clearance plus change timing chain last year also, but i'm still getting that irritating ticking. Mech said no issue. I also think it's no issue, but I feel so uneasy. So either my mech took me for a ride or it is really no issue.

Hi to all VFR rider, to my knowledge it's not the Cam Chain Tensioner. I just change my CCT a few month back and the sign for you to chain is there is a Teck Teck sound when you warm up your bike. The sound will get louder and louder as time goes by as the spring in the CCT is getting loose and thus unable to push the cam chain. The Teck Teck sound will be there no matter what temperature you are at when you are at free gear. When you engage gear you can hear or feel the cam chain is loose. For your case I seriously don't think it's CCT

then could it be that the shims are too tight? so when the bike heats up, it starts ticking?

If its really shims.....then the bike will have difficulty doing a cold start....but for hot start its normal.....shim buffing are a tedious and I can tell you 90% of the mechs here don't know how to do it properly.

why need to grind the shims? shims can be found in different thickenesses already mah. i think u meant valve-grinding.. and yes that is a b*tch to do.
