I was looking throught Hot Bike mag and man those Americans sure know how to make their choppers look more sexy than Megan Fox or Angelina Jolie.

Wondering if any of you Dragstar peeps know where to change seat and rims (one stop place for cruiser bikes customisation). Spokes can be rather irritating cos its so hard to polish/ clean them. Wasn't just thinking of standard 'plate' rims, but like those rims on HD V-Rod. Heard its impossible cos Dragstar tyres are not tubeless.

It is not the tire but the rim that matters. You could compare the rims' specification against the 1100cc version and arrange to purchase online or thru motorcycle shop import service (e.g. Motorworld etc.) if the set of rims match.

Someone spoke of Custom Cycle at Kallang Industrial Park but I am not sure if they are working on Harley Davidson motorcycle only or metric cruiser as well. You might want to give the shop a visit to check them out.

Good luck.

Hi Hi Star Riders....I do have to agree yes, there are lesser Star riders than Steed or Shadow but it's alright...It's just how we all choose our ride that's all...nothing personal...By the way, there's a gathering for all cruiser riders this coming 2nd Feb, check out the thread for Cruisers Gathering....I'm a Star rider myself and i'm excited to join the gathering as from there, we all can get together and get united....So, i do hope to see all you Star riders at the gathering....Ride on and ride safe....STAR RIDERS.....

Thanks man. That's helpful.

Anyway i think it's about time that i should change my tires. Can anyone tell me where is a desirable place to do it? In terms of cost that is. I asked a shop in Bt Merah and they wanna charge me $300 (Bridgestone) for both front and rear.

I'm going to change my rims on my 1100. Hong Leong quoted me around $1800. There's no choice of rims, they import the stock Silverado rims I believe.

I thought the price sound reasonable but you may want to call up a few more shops (e.g. Rosli, Hong Leong, Combine Motor etc) just to make comparison on the price. Take note of the tire's brand and model too. My personal preference is Metzeler M880 because it gave a better mileage and stickier surface. There are people who spoke of Avon, available at Chong Aik which, you may want to check it out too.

That is one alternative too. Silverado? Interesting, 2 years back when I check with Hong Leong, the showroom manager told me it is specifically for Dragstar Classic. Perhaps, both models shared the same rims' specification.

So you're using M880 for both front and rear? how much is it anyway?

Wish I could share with you on the price but, front and rear tires set on my Vulcan is totally different in measurement comparing to the Dragstar Classic. Perhaps you would want to give Rosli or other shops a call to check the price instead? One biker had his tires changed to Dunlop at Mah Pte Ltd and it cost him around $350 nett.

Ok 350 sounds a lil too expensive :p

Hi guys!

Just bought an FR Dragstar from a fellow forumer (xixy) yesterday. Enjoying the sounds of the python pipes :)

Are there any meet-ups coming up? am eager to compare notes & learn more about the bike

Also, any good bike shops reccomended in the west? Live on the West Coast and wondering if there any good mechanics (familiar with Dragstar) around here (wanted to change footrests to footpegs - bought Puma riding boots today - realise that the boot's gear pad makes it too thick to slip between the footboard and the gear lever when I need to change from 1st to 2nd. )

Thanks!

Python!!!! Same same :)

You can join us for Friday meet ups if you want. Usually at corner of Rangoon Road and Dorset Road around 830pm onwards. Or can come for rides or trips with us. Can also compare python pipes. heee

Some of us are ex Dragstar riders so you can ask them anything about it.

For mechanics, I only know Rosli which is in the east. As far as I know, he's quite comfortable with Draggies.
