Sorry for the late reply.. am currently in BKK for work trip.

Well there are some steps u can take to check is the bearing spocket's teeth have worned out.

 

1. Lift bike off ground (Do not try bear hands unless u wear a cape n ur underwear on the outside.)

2. Make sure the affected wheel is turnable

3. Jiggle, yes i mean JIGGLE ur tires any way other than how they are suppose to turn.

4. Pray hard

5. If its very looooose, means its teeth that holds the bearing in place is gone or almost gone.. that will also means money from your wallet will be gone too...

 

But my advice is to get it changed asap. It can hinder with corners and its not worth waiting BECAUSE.. once it gets worse, you might have to change the whole rim instead. Esti cost for the socket is at least $150 above. They need to get the rim machined and not use some coke can to stick it in to fill up the gap between the teeth and bearing. That is cheap cheap option.. $15 only.

hey man no problem at all. appreciate your response useful info. i find that the 'click' sound doesn't occur all the time. so when it happens, u jus get worried again.

 

i think even if i jiggle the tire the way u told me, i doubt there will be looseness. brought it to Rosli a few months back about the 'clicking' problem. he managed to fix it but it came back to haunt again. i will try to see what's the problem.

all u dragstar bros.. pls cross the hump slowly when riding... i just had a loud bump on my engine or crash bar while crossing hunp at centrepoint.. goddamit heartache. I really hope its my crashbar and not the engine...urgh...

Not engine or crash bar.. its the under body frame. OUCH..

 

No worries.. lots of us riders do get such bumps as SG roads are made in a way that we dun speed.

That would sound like a plan. But one thing for sure, Dragstar thread is also one of the highest viewed thread ard in the cruiser forum. Will need more support for all the riders to respond to it. Regardless of the type of cruiser bike owned.
