Bro sprint74,

Is that a thruxton fender? I'm looking for a replacement one for my PB1. This one looks like a good candidate... Saw a few on ebay...

I bought a GN250 one at the scrap yard.. But I feel it might be too small (narrow) :(

Yes it is. Niwei i used a cm125 seat for the cafe s4, cos the s4 frame slopes upwards halfway, i had to use a heat gun and flexed the plastic seat pan to follow the frame. Still oklah considering the w400-800 face the same frame issues.

Thanks for your PM. Yes, probably best to keep the messages within this chat thread so info is shared...

--Point noted about connecting a chrome mudguard to the original plastic one. It is definitely dangerous if it fails / falls off!! The only reason why I wanted to do this, was because i wanted to reuse the mounting mechanism of the original rear mudguard. But you are right about just attaching the fender direct to frame. Fenders clutter up the look of the bike, but I will probably install one a long fatass one for safety and also not to attract too much attention. I may try to get a used NC36 chrome mudguard like this pic:

http://userdisk.webry.biglobe.ne.jp/005/046/70/N000/000/000/124522531226116129396_CA3A0923.JPG

Either that, or a triumph one like sprint74s!

--Definitely not cutting the frame. I too have bought spares for seat + rear fender so I can reinstall all stock parts for inspection.

--For the seat, I'm trying my best to Flatten AND lower it. I hope to achieve the old-school flat "uncle" style straight lines, so the bike doesn't look so aggressive. Basically this kind of look:

http://i1293.photobucket.com/albums/b595/DanielReyer/P1010635_zps109ed413.jpg

Unfortunately given Super4's aggro shape, this is not easy. To achieve FLAT, like you said, the only way is to make the front part of seat thicker, and then progressively thinner towards the end. To achieve LOW, I have no choice but to try and make my own DIY pan. I originally wanted to reuse the plastic base of the original seat, but unfortunately the original seat is too high. I also tried to re-use the original seat bolt mechanism. But the mecahnism also means raising everything by 2 cm. So I guess I will forego this convenience feature for now. Right now I'm trying to make a DIY fibreglass pan. My vision is this fibreglass pan will be "universal" and i can attach on different cushions as and when I want. Dunno if I'll be able to DIY it. Will def post pics of the process if it is a success.

--Thanks for tips on what to do when change to bigger tyres. When you say "shift axle backwards" does this just mean u shift it backwards within the "gap" that allows you to tighten your chain? Or did you mod the entire swingarm and shift it backwards?

--Your "burnt look" is awesome :):) did you really burn it or is it a spray on effect? haha. From the way you do your "burn strokes" you are a talented artist man...

--Last but not least, I'm surprised that there are so few super4 cafe / tracker mods! As far as I know, I've only seen 3 on this forum (yours, sprint74, and one more guy). Given that super4 is singapore's most popular bike, I hope to see more!!! :p

you diy-ing your own fiberglass pan?? thats cool! I wanted to do that but I had trouble with the shipping of the liquid resin.

I shift backward within the gap only. If i had to buy new swingarm, i think i will cry. hahaha

the burnt look is just a spray on effect with matt camo green and some dabbing with newspapers. siao ah want to burn fuel tank. my insurance TP only. no fire or theft included. :p

still thinking whether i should put the sharks tooth decal in front. My original plan was to give it a war-plane kinda look. I've bought the decals for months now, but I'm kinda in love with how it looks currently.

Guys, what are your opinions on exhaust wraps? I've bought lots but i got some concerns.

Will having wraps be frowned upon by inspection centers? if i wrap these oem pipes, then if inspection must remove a bit marfan. I've got a moriwaki pipe that i guess i can wrap, but so sayang if the header gets rusty.. and moriwaki pipe a bit too modern la cos its carbon Fiber end can. but its much easier to switch exhaust for inspection rather than removing and reapplying wraps.

i was thinking of encasing the headers with something like a tube with exhaust wrap design; just to give the illusion of a wrapped exhaust. but can be easily removed during inspection. anyone done this before? maybe can share your experiences?

Alternatively, anyone got spare oem pipes? :D

Of course I trust my skills. I ride alone cos I don't trust the competency of the driver next to me.

I got both the seats from him but all dusty like hell lah. Wakakakakaka

Reuse and trim the sponge to save cost. As for bending, i 'borrowed' the heat gun and grinder from ah ann bike fab when i worked on my bike there. The cm125 seat sides needed to to be cut cos it overlapped the frame. Tracker/cafe racer must see a bit of the frame imo.

Fiberglass pan quite easy to DIY. I used to fly remote control plane thats where I learned to do. The liquid resin can actually buy in SG. But buy online cheaper. It's basically just epoxy, but 30mins version, and a bit more diluted so easier to spread on. I got a bunch of it coming in, can pass u some if u want.

I think it looks great as is! Save the sharks tooth for somethign else!

Exhaust wrap I think confirm will look nice!! I think u get one of those beige / khaki color one will be AWESOME!!! But like you said, if need to remove for inspection will be damn leychey. A removable "tube" sounds like a good idea!! Need to figure out a heat proof way of making the "Tube" though. I was also thinking exhaust wrap my PB1 would look good. But its quite a waste since PB1 has stainless steel pipes. I will prob polish until shiny shiny instead.

If u can find a pair of wheels from the cb400four, maybe can fit. Tyre sizes about the same i tink. Hehehehehe

That's why i hunted slowly for the spoked nighthawk instead of the sport rim one. For that classic look.
