Sorry to hear about your incident, speedy recovery. I think your case might be a little hard to win if u are to file a claim against that cab because u already signed an private agreement that u will not claim against him, which u are not allowed to do so as stated in the insurance policy. Secondly, u might be given demerit points for dangerous riding or etc... Thirdly, there is really nothing much u can do to that aunty even if she says no to u now because there's no black & white between both of u. I would suggest that maybe u take up her offer of $100, then move on.

anyway, i am not an expert in this kind of matter. but i am wondering, why did you write and sign on the paper? after signing it, you can't claim the taxi driver, neither can you 'claim' the passenger if she doesn't want to pay up.....

That piece of paper cannot prove anything 1. It is not any offical paper agreement. But you cant claim the taxi and the auntie. Because both you and the taxi uncle is at fault. The auntie is not at fault for opening the door, as she got no license and also the taxi uncle did not warn her not to open it up. So no choice, you need to absorb the damage yourselve.

As what u had stated, riiding on double yellow line n accident....u can be charge for dangerous riding .

 

Call her again...if hv $100 just take...if she give u $50 also take n close ts case..

Haiz... Time n again such incidents happened n coz of tis, we riders r branded as pests, dangerous, reckless, inconsiderate n more... Count urself fortunate that e aunty is kind n not those highly educated pricks who always tink bout $$$... Else she cud sue u for causing emotional distress...

Next time take the money on the spot... Cash $500. If no one can pay... say u proceed with police report and insurance claim.

Guys I witness 2 accidents at Steven road to orchard today. I saw a lancer speeding and later I saw the lancer and a CBR or s4 (did not really notice but I think it was CBR) involved in an accident at the huge T junction just before far east plaza. After that I witness another accident at the entance of tangs involving a cub and a taxi. If the victim of the accident (cub owner) would like witnesses I can help cos the taxi was really ignorant and lane changed without safety checking and ignoring the horn from the cub that resulted in the accident. Sorry guys if I posted on the wrong thread but I just want to help fellow riders. Cheers
