Yes, NC700X is a good bike and have read the reviews. I'm getting one soon but any tips to buy from any good aftersales service beside Boon siew? Is Looi's motor ok?

Guys wanna ask do you noticed that engine braking for twin engine like the nc seems like dont have at all in 6th gear. Maybe its just me, coming frm bbird inline 4 to twin, perfomance totally difference. Dont power la, that one irrelevant..... Maybe weight also play a part i guess

Hi all dude, may i know is it alright to go for first service at dealers instead of B.S? I heard some said that is a must!o_O What grade of EO do you recommend? 10/40,10/30,10/20 semi-syn or just normal MO?

Thanks.Haven't got time to do up my bike, nowadays, busy always...:faint:

From http://www.ashonbikes.com/content/honda-nc700x-0

"Internal frictional losses are minimised by using a special resin coating on the pistons and running the rockers on roller rather than plain bearings, with plenty of attention being paid to pumping losses."

This is why engine braking on the NC700x is minimal. Honda really wants to make this engine fuel-efficient, the downside: You will feel that engine braking seemed less effective than other bikes.

Looi's motor have two type, one is Boon Siew's bike, which is price higher (saw a White NC700X ABS at showroom), going at 19K plus.

2nd type is own PI, NC700X ABS at 18K plus, NC700X non ABS at 16K plus. Don't think have any stock now, but I forsee the price going to be up since NC selling like hotcake.. :(

Great info, thanks for sharing :)

Anyway, in short, NC's engine is like 1/2 of Honda Fit/Jazz's engine, so, is less "Vrooom power" in a way.

Any NC700 reviews mentioning "They chopped the Honda Jazz Engine into 1/2 to make the NC700 engine... blah blah blah..." should be taken with a pinch of salt. These writers just blindly quote other reviews.

The NC Development Team Leader said he took his cues from the Honda Automotive Team in his effort to develop a more efficient Engine.

The only thing the NC700 engine shares with a Jazz Engine is similar Bore X Stroke ratio.

I've been following this bike since Ashon's 1st review. Some websites are just plain lazy. Well-written reviews are mostly done by people who actually rode the bike.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JInhGm022lE]

This lady did a well-balanced short review on the NC700.

While this bike is not built for flat out acceleration, its easily accessible max torque means you do get decent acceleration for commuting profile.

http://www.youtube.com/embed/TcW7jzkuBmg

Parallel Twin engines are designed to pump torque and endure. 2 components in pTwins are very susceptible to catastrophic failure if you rev'ed the engine too hard. (i.e. The timing chain and some kinda thin metallic diaphragm.)

Use an "Easy Rider" mentality if you want your NC700 to last forever.

The NC700s/x is getting more and more popular with Courier riders in Japan. They must be on to something here.

For those technically-inclined, how they managed to cut fuel consumption with the NC700 engine.

And why I am buying the DCT version instead.

Icic.... But aniways it works for the better, FC is amazing. Juz need to change riding style.... :)

Not regrets at all with the NCX so far

While the pTwin engine is not designed for Rev'ing, its torque is easily 80% max after 1500rpm. Max'ed out @ 4250 rpm and noticeably drops after that.

1 fellow did a speed run with his Integra (Think NC700XD with scooter body.) 0-115kmh in 7 secs is nothing to sniff at.

Nice, look solid.

Here's another, don't look as good but looks like the support is better.
