for those with bigger heads, Arai is the one. last time i checked (couple yrs ago) with Shoei distributor, they only bring in up to XL (abt 61cm)... maybe now got XXL.

I dun like too tight, so am using an XXL (63cm) for my Arai... had the RX7RR, OmniJ, AstroJ... Never tried Shoei.

Arai noise level still ok... Only thing is the rubber around the helmet always coming out... happened on my RX7 & Astro... Omni rubber can last longer, but the pads cannot change.

My Arai Ram II visor cracked....

Arai have something like a guaranty that their visors won't crack under any hard impact right?

Is it possible to get a free replacement hur? :cheeky:

XR1000,RF1000 and X-11 uses the same Shell Concept..

Both XR1000 and RF1000 is the same helmet but it's call RF1000 in the states and XR1000 in Europe..Both are not available in SG...

I cast my vote on Shoei anytime..

hmm... if u want protection.. that's the price u have to pay.. for me.. the closest to FF that i wore is a flip-up.. my current FF helmet is a shoei syncrotec.. but i'm thinking of getting a shoei X11 sometime in the near future..

i got mine 2yrs ago... at that time, it was priced at $600 i think.. u can probably get it cheaper now.. overall a good helmet.. very comfortable too.. no need to take off specs b4 wearing the helmet.. but being a flip-up.. noise filter(from the wind) is not as good..

hmm so many ppl complain arai nt lasting how come so popular  btw are arai helmets psb approve?

Arai FF rubber lining always drop off, even the vents are subjected to being stucked or flew off also.. and they are all PSB approved.

What are the good flip-up models I can consider from Arai or Shoei? How much would they cost? Thanks!

If everything seems under control, you're simply not going fast enough. - Mario Andretti

Arai got no Flip-up.. Shoei currently had only Syncotec, the new Multitec will be out soon..

Why Arai no Flip-up?? becuz 'sway sway' during a crash, you hit your flip-up head on, the point where you always flip up might break due to impact and may even cause more injuries than a open face.. Arai doesnt want to compromise safety..

i own a Arai RX7 RR4 it very nice and light. i use to wear Rapid M and Signet both are nice helmet but the lip near the chin fell off after 2yrs. went back to Chiap Lee got it fix for free. and was told not to dry the helmet under the hot sun as it will cause the rubber to be easily loosen,i been wearing the RX7 for 3yrs and i have not encounter that problem. but i do agreed the ventilation valve is very lossen now.

SHOEI! i like the shoei j-force. but i think the price tag is abit steep for such a simple design helmet. but nvr doubt its depth of protection
