use 10w40...Better...

If 20w 50 will got very hot engine..

you sure???

look at the last no. 40 and 50..

of course sae50 able to run engine hotter ie under more stresses ..(hard riding..) than sae40

the 20w or 10w..have no practical value unless singapore have snow..or very cold:angel:

riding ta150..not cls 2 bike...hahah

hi wen..

ta 150 old bike...

my ta150 7.5 years old...have bought it recently..odometer says 90,000 km..:giddy:

so i use thicker oilssay 20w50...

next oil change i will try to get sae50 single grade..main reason being piston ring/cylinder ..may be worn out...so thicker oil to seal it..hahhaa

normal recommendation is old vehicles dont use fully synthectic oil..or very thin and silky oil....too much leakage...unless u overhauled or change new piston rings/cylinder...:cheeky:

if using fully synthectic..

,

make sure u see this certification..JASO MA..

Is there a reason that Fully Synthetic Oil will have adverse effect on wet clutch?

fellow bros, if i using my previous owner use super cheap eo, does it make the engine compartment heat up faster coz i feel that i got scalded by the left side of my engine compartment.

any good recommendation for newly overhauled phantom TA200?

hi bros... wat kind of EO should be used for S4 during running in process?

Almost all bikes during running process uses mineral oil.

And any brand of mineral will do, and usually its the 20w50 type.

most fully synthectic oils additives ..friction modifiers...this will make the wet clutch slip....unless certifed okay..like JASO MA...

so f syn oil may degrade the clutch and have premature failures...

EO do not harm engine as such...wrong selection results in fast degradtion of oil..ie need to chnage oil more frequently..

you will notice...harsher noise, harder to enagage gears, pick up slower, take longer to achieve your desored speed....etc...

if u do not change to the correct oil...wear and tear sets in and the whole engine suffers

FRom my understanting. Engine oil is made up of two major component.

1) BAse stock

2) Addictives.

As far as I know, it is the base stock use in the engine oil that determines if its fully sythetic. (only applies to Group IV and Group V base stock).addictives are blended into the base stock to give the engine oil its desirable results.

Friction Modifier is merely one of the many addictives added to the base stock and blended into engine oil targeted at certain vehicles.

Friction Modifier can be present in non synthetic oil.

To add to the point. Engine oil mean for motorcycle have Zero or very little Friction Modifier. As long as your engine oil is 40W and above you are safe.

when there are signs of little bubbles in the engine oil appearing when the engine has warmed up, what could it mean?

how do u know there is bubble?

wat brand n grade r u using?

did u add oil additives?

little bubbles on top of oil can be generated by gear/clutch/crankshaft rotations splashing in oil bath.

as long as it is in liquid state should be alrite.

worst case scenario r cause by adding oil additives.

oil can turn white fill with air bubbles.

this will cause air lock in oil pump.

loss of oil pressure n failure to lubricate high pressure points.

thus failure of oil lubrication causes serious wear to engine parts.

Please do try Amsoil Full Synthetic 10W40 oil. It have good addicitives for long drain interval. U will probably see very consistent performance and smooth gear shifting thru out its 5k interval, maybe even more then that depends on where and how you commute.
