Hi all...

Usually i use Maxima 15W50 for my Spark135.. Felt tat its too thick for the engine..

So i decided to try Bel-Ray 10W50.. Both EO are fully synthetic... But i still prefer Bel-Ray 10W50 over the Maxima in my point of view.. I got no reget over my choice..

Why not you guys give a try on Bel-Ray 10W50..

Hi, thanks for the review. I would recommend you use Thumper 10w40 or 20w50 as they are highly recommended for your bike. But they are currently in Semi-Syn Ester Based only.

Cheers

Why do you think that it is TOO THICK bro? Is it because of the SLOW PICKUP then you conclude that it is too thick? If you are a light rider and likes to play pick up you should use 10W40. Then it's light and the pickup of the bike is FASTER and garang. Of course if you use 15W50 your pickup will be slower. Viscosity is VERY Important on what u need bro be it FULLY Syn or Semi Syn. Cheers bro.

Hello, now me using Thumper 10w40 with Daytona filter. Seems good, gear can change easier, morning cold start easier also. But now, after reading Bel-Ray article, it says to use 20w50 for most application.

Roughly, how often should I change the oil to maintain tip top condition? Me riding at 6-8k rpm most of the time; 10k rpm is the start of redzone.

Be happy always :-)

For Thumper is a Semi Syn with special additive to it. Usually it can last you 4-4500km, thats a average oil change period. You should give this oil to the max km. Usually the gear starts to get stiffer upon changing gear.

Of cos the early km you change the oil be better for the engine.

Cheers

Ok, but I notice in Phantom sub-forum; they change semi or fully syn at around 2k, max 3k km. I comparing with Phantom coz it's also Honda air-cooled, albeit 200cc.

PS: Thinking of trying Mobil 1 or Motul 300v next; 1 litre mix with my leftover Thumper oil to get about total required 1.2~ 1.3 litre.

Be happy always :-)

Some bikes have a specific oil filter wrench to remove the oil filter.

Use K&N oil filters, high flow, and you never need to worry about special tools to remove it. All K&N cartridge oil filters comes with a 17mm nut welded to it for easy removal.

Motorex (Oil of Switzerland) offers premium mineral oil (Legend 4T 20W-50) for V-twin and parallel twin bikes.

For single cylinder, same format as the motocross bikes, perhaps you can try our 10W-60 Fully Synthetic Power Synt 4T. We used this oil on our race RSV4s during the last SMSA Bike Races series with very good results and feedback from our riders.

Please visit our advertisers section under Sporting Motors to see the full range of exciting oils that Motorex offers.
