My friend told me only able to go via shipping as per mentioned by you too.

Charges are sky high too.

These will be enough to deter me from buying overseas already. :(

Thats why engine oil business is actually a "safer" business, not affected by online shopping.

I had a chance to chat with an engine oil manufacturer sales engineer and this is what he told me,

In layman term, for high performace, high rpm, high heat vehicle, one should go for thicker oil. Cause if use thin oil, the oil might evaporate too fast leaving not much lubrication and cooling effect in the cylinder. If use thicker oil, the evaporation rate is slower.

He also mentioned due to semi syn nature, it is not able to mate well with its addictive. Even if the oil manufacturer add those super good addictive inside, it is actually not effective. Hence no matter how "good" is the oil, it will never be as good as a full syn.

As for ester, he actually mentioned it is abit "corrosive". It will slowly "attack" the seal, gasket etc, in long run. However it is very good for high heat = high performance.

Yes its worth. There are other brands that are almost as good available cheaper but 300v probably the best there is. Chg at recommended OCI. Dont waste money n fully utilise its qualities.

Thanks! BTW, care to share the alternatives?

Havoline® Formula

SAE 20W-50

Saw this in jb caltex at +/- 60rm for 4L.

But decided that how picky i am and hate being stuck with the same oil for 3000-5000+/- km

Decided to stick with my schaeffers

question. is it true that to estimate the engine oil change for the bike is to estimate based on the engine oil capacity of the bike? 1 liter apporx 2000km so a bike with 3 liter engine will need to change engine oil approx. 6000km( fully syn)?

EO change is based on your bikes' OCI.

for example a S4 Revo OCI is 12000km. of course you wouldn't want to use mineral is you want to use for that kinda distance AND you'd change just before reaching the OCI, not on or before...

Read up more about fully syn oils, they can last more than 6000km.

Assuming that no oil was "eaten" by the engine, the same grade of oil will last the same, regardless 1, 2, or 3 litres.

Of course, single cylinder 2b bikes may "eat" some of the oil during the duration of its life inside the engines compartment... kupkia etc etc....

the advice you got, as in your post, is a conservative way of "measuring" the change intervals.

I wouldn't say it's all wrong, though you'll spend more on your bike than you need too...

btw, What bike are you using?

Just my $0.02

Goodee hor hot goodee... Mat witz sebastian! :p

Take note oil change interval should also take into consideration fuel, moisture, carbon contamination from the engine. Especially with spore hot and humid climate that increase the rate of oxidation of the oil.

Bro, though debatable, you are rather right and safe to say so.

That has always been my practice too.

my 2 cents. bike of

1L eo should change about 1000km because very little oil is circulating.

2L = 4000

3L-6000

All the oils u list are meant for cars, usually too slippery for ur wet clutch. There could be chance that one of them could work but nt worth the risk. Just stick to the reputable 4T oils. Make sure there is a JASO-MA certification.
