Anyone help Pls.? For 2 stroke bike is it better to use fully syn oil or gear oil? Any difference?

2 strokes bike use Gear Oil is better.

care to explain?

its not better as in it'll affect ur machine but more like it'll affect ur pocket. engine oil has additional stuff inside to protect the engine as it goes thru the whole bike. gear oil only need to lube the gears, so doesn't need those additional stuff inside. So, its possible for the engine oil to be the same quailty as the gear oil but much more expensive cause of the aditional stuff inside

abit :offtopic:

sorry but to explain to both of them.

thanks mod

alanhim & ET

to add on to redname

correct me if im wrong.

:)

2 strokes bikes is different from 4 strokes bikes.

the pistons in the 2 strokers are not immersed wif the Gear Oil when rider changed.

instead it will soak the gears of the bike.

so Gear Oil is for 2 strokers & Engine Oil is for 4 strokers.

I see. So it's more important to have a better 2T than 4T right? Thanks guys.

if u r comparing semi-syn to full-syn, it is the quality of oil tat is make from.

full-syn provides better protections n performance for ur engine.

most full-syn eo based on POA, ester or poly ester (best n most expensive).

don't buy those hydrocrack type tat claim to be full-syn, these r only dino oil based, it is the same as semi-syn (castrol r famous to have use this method for manufacturing their full-syn eo).

so tat means Castrol R4 is not fully Syn?

So where to get the EO for Maxima which is the best price

i find the prices at planet moto one not bad, $20 & $22, i tink the diff is the SAE rate but both fully syn. u might wanna try racewreks at alexander, not sure of the price but he's prices for oil normally quite ok, u go check then post here can?

For my opinion:

2-stroke bikes use normal fully syn engine oil will do, for the gearbox.

Juz rmber to change it regulary, evry 5000km.

But 2T shd use the POWER POWER one, for lubricating the piston so that it "dances" smoother n faster!!

4-stroke bikes, esp "BIG COWS", shd use good grades of 4T for the engines, becoz it lubricates not only the gears, but the piston as well, in this case, pistons.

And also rmber to change regulary for optimum perfromance and life-span of the engine.

PS: You take care bike, bike take care you!

That time MotorX got special promotion..... now must check if they still have, if not there's a thread by the importer under "Advertisers" section, can check the various shops.
