It could be otherwise....I love to have the big twin, but me as Asian size...I'm happy with my sportster....and it's not just a sportster, it's a Harley....ppl just love seeing it...regardless that's for sure....a definite head-turner

Hello guys. Just wanted to share some tyres replacement kangtao here. So i was searching high and low to replace my XL1200 sportster's front and rear tyres, called up a shop in kakibukit , 420 for the cheapest available brand. Even a pair of Heidenau also cost around 330 (without installation). Then i suddenly remember the past week when i went to Lim Ah Boy for something else, the counter shouted and shouted tyres lelong "we got tyres promo, really cheap one trust me, come back and i quote you" .

 

I might as well just hit the shop and see what happens. I couldn't believe my ears when they quoted $170 for rear and front Shinko , plus installation !! I had to "haa?" .. stunned.

 

After that, due to my fault, i told them the wrong front size, so ended up they don't have Shinko for my front, so had to take another brand for the front but the rear remains Shinko. Just top up 40 for the Bridgestone front.

 

Anyway, the promo is real !!! for anyone who is due for tyres change, now is the time !!!

Help needed. Just bought over a xl883r but the pervious owner did not use the key fob. And i think the security system is not activate. Anyone know how to activate it but must go to hds?

amen23, the security system is an add on feature that will cost about 500 bucks to install. And it must be done at HDS only they can activate the system.

hi Guys, jus got an XL 1200 nightster (2nd hand) and there is already a few problem (worn out clutch and spoiled brake master pump) etc..., got and shop that you guys can recommend? got to know (combine @ sin_ming) but I have to put bike for more then a week, hoping to find a shop that can get after market (screaming eagle clutch system) and do the installation for me. hope to hear from you guy's soon

Guys, I contemplating if i should get a harley davidson 883 or a ducati monster 696, it'll be my everyday bike to and fro from work. Both are my dream bikes and both makes great sound.

but i also heard that both digs deep in pockets when it comes to servicing and maintenance. From time to time i might needa fetch my gf

 

What do you guys suggest?

Offering my opinion from a Harley's perspective. The Sportster is kinda small if you wish to give your girlfriend a ride from time to time. I am about 1.8m, 80kg, for you to estimate according to your own size. I don't think it will be a comfortable ride, especially when you or both of you have little bags to manage as well. It is often mentioned that 883 is under powered, better to get 1200. Personally have not tested the former before but its food for thought there.
