Why is roadster not popular

It could be otherwise....I love to have the big twin, but me as Asian size...I'm happy with my sportster....and it's not just a sportster, it's a Harley....ppl just love seeing it...regardless that's for sure....a definite head-turner

Hello guys. Just wanted to share some tyres replacement kangtao here. So i was searching high and low to replace my XL1200 sportster's front and rear tyres, called up a shop in kakibukit , 420 for the cheapest available brand. Even a pair of Heidenau also cost around 330 (without installation). Then i suddenly remember the past week when i went to Lim Ah Boy for something else, the counter shouted and shouted tyres lelong "we got tyres promo, really cheap one trust me, come back and i quote you" .

I might as well just hit the shop and see what happens. I couldn't believe my ears when they quoted $170 for rear and front Shinko , plus installation !! I had to "haa?" .. stunned.

After that, due to my fault, i told them the wrong front size, so ended up they don't have Shinko for my front, so had to take another brand for the front but the rear remains Shinko. Just top up 40 for the Bridgestone front.

Anyway, the promo is real !!! for anyone who is due for tyres change, now is the time !!!

Great news for Sportsters! Read this on Harley UK website:

" Heard the news? Screamin’ Eagle EC-approved Sportster mufflers now available

Oxford (3 February 2015) - Using the famed air-cooled American engine knowledge that only we have at Harley-Davidson®, we have brought together the famed Harley powertrain development and accessory exhaust teams to deliver a Screamin’ Eagle® branded exhaust silencer system that is certified to the latest EU standard. Which means you can have your exhaust and hear it…

The new 3.25-inch Street Cannon high-flow mufflers have been specifically tuned to deliver a tone that actively enhances your choice of steed – yes, your bike can sound as good as it looks without upsetting the neighbours. From pleasing 45-degree V-twin throb to a proud and unmistakable Harley beat at the twist of the right wrist, Harley-Davidson fans will rejoice at the unleashed Harley tone. At the same, and get this, the mufflers have been designed to improve performance.

Installation of some aftermarket mufflers can often result in drops in performance to achieve the legal sound requirements. And while our new Screamin’ Eagle Sportster mufflers are compliant to the latest regulations in terms of sound and emissions, they deliver an additional five percent horsepower. This increase also comes without the need to manually recalibrate the advanced electronics, air breather and fuel injection systems – although further performance Genuine Parts & Accessories are available to help the engine breathe more easily. Bolt on, start up and go. Improved acceleration and throttle response are yours to be had.

The new Street Cannon high-flow mufflers are available in a choice of two finishes: rich chrome or heat-resistant jet black ceramic finish and both are ECE certified and stamped accordingly. The muffler kits also include Screamin’ Eagle® muffler shields and slash-down end caps to retain that indelible factory finished and unique look. For further information on model fit and pricing, please call or visit your local authorised Harley-Davidson dealership."

Guys, I contemplating if i should get a harley davidson 883 or a ducati monster 696, it'll be my everyday bike to and fro from work. Both are my dream bikes and both makes great sound.

but i also heard that both digs deep in pockets when it comes to servicing and maintenance. From time to time i might needa fetch my gf

What do you guys suggest?

Offering my opinion from a Harley's perspective. The Sportster is kinda small if you wish to give your girlfriend a ride from time to time. I am about 1.8m, 80kg, for you to estimate according to your own size. I don't think it will be a comfortable ride, especially when you or both of you have little bags to manage as well. It is often mentioned that 883 is under powered, better to get 1200. Personally have not tested the former before but its food for thought there.
