Anyone use or install Intercom (Wired-type) onto their bike?

Any bikeshop here carries any of these brands: Starcom1, TORK, Autocom?

I believe the wired-type is better than Bluetooth-type if you travelling above 120kmph.

Well, its noisy. Its mono.

The only way u gonna here ur other party talk on higher speed is to lower down the volume.

Wind blast to the mic is also irritating.

But its cheap n it works. Even above speed of 180km/h. Provided u can stand the irritation

Depend on which brand you buy. I've surveyed the Starcom1. Advance, quite impressive. It's in stereo, the VOX system will automatically soften the background music (if rider & pillon listening to music) when either party stats talking. Try checkout their products. Starcom1 & Autocom made in UK. There's other brand from Germany too but soooo exxx....

The pricetag. Better go for the bluetooth ones.

UCLEAR...

No mic... Safest!

Hi Stoner,

Long time no see....

I use UClear too, within S'pore road.

I tried use UClear during my Samui trip... at 140-150kmph the bluetooth did not work well. My pillon can hear me, but I couldn't hear her. Since then I been searching online for non-wireless intercom set and just got myself Starcom1.Advance unit.

Going to try it for my upcoming Krabi trip.

Some prefer bluetooth-type. I've tried but not satisfied with it. Now I'm going to try wired-type and see how the performance. May be I can give my comment later.

I tot it all goes down to how well your helmet can provide the sound proof during high speed..

That too

Actually, it should juz stay with the in ear type of earphones. Make noise cancelling. Better.

The "speaker" type will still depends on speed and soundproofing of helmets.

It suprise me too. I'm using Nolan Flip-Up helmet with removable chin guard. The speakers were so close to my ears yet I can hardly hear my pillion conversation at 140-150kmph speed. All but very faint. Decided to transfer it to my daily helmet use.

so whether is a BT or wired...result should be the same...

more to helmet and ear piece..I am using BT, the manufacturer did mention good to 120km/h..

I was thinking who gonna chat while doing 150...kekekekeke...

FJR 1300...

I chat with my wife up to the speed of 180km/h.

As on that speed my bike still stable. Felt like normal.

But i'm using the cheapo wired intercom set.

Its using earphone.

It get irritating when wind blow to the mic.

After a while the trick is to lower down the volume as speed increase. If not wind blast to the mic will be just too loud.

I also have tried the speaker type but for music output only. Hook in on to my phone. Seriously i cant hear anything above 120km/h. Just noise.

So best bet is still the in ear earphones. Regardless off wired or bluetooth

True..true...it still depend on the earpiece, how close or how big is the padding to ur ears.

Also depend on the unit with VOX or w/o VOX. Cos VOX will helps to cancel background noises while u talking or listening to ipod (music) connected.

I'm sure all brands/products will make claims to what extend their products capable of, but still till we use it then we know how good the products are.

I still prefer in ear earphones

Can also act as a earplug to block noise out.

So any intercom that use earphone?

I was told that BHH is launching, in about a month's time, in-ear headphones for its vertix bluetooth system. You have to put in the earphones, then the helmet and then connect the earphone jack to the bluetooth receiver that is attached to the helmet.

I was going to take a look at it and see if I can swap the earbuds to my custom-made earphones (that block out noise with my 'non-standard-shaped' ears).

Do let us know your feedback when you buy in-earphones - will help folks like me exploring the same route :)
