Is it normal that when you close you flip up(not the visor), you need to hold the helmet to prevent it from sliding or moving forward?

Thanks for replying

seems normal to me. i use my other hand to steady my helmet when i pull down the flip-up as i need a tiny bit of force to lock it down. the flip up is huge leh. not small like visor: you need more force to pull it down.

Current Rides:

FEB 07 -> NOV 08 [CBR 150]

AUG 08 -> AUG 12 [XJR400]

AUG 12 -> ??? [DUCATI MONSTER 696]

Correct sizes does matter when you 'flip-up' open your flip-up helmet. If it move backward so much or when it moves forward when you trying to open or close then its not the correct size for you. Also the chin strap has to be strapped properly and does choke you when you flip-up open the helmet.

I love my Nolan N103 Flip-Up helmet. Though its abit heavy compared to my HJC Fullface, but the padding is soft & fit nicely onto my cheek & head. Now itchy to get Nolan N104 model, much lighter then N103.

Well, that'll depends on your filp up too. As said about, it is probably size but would like to add on that different helmets have different fit.

Say a more rounded helmet would fit a person with a rounded head but not someone with a wider crown.

I'm using N90... Never had this issue, as there's a flip switch to "Lock" the flip up in position...
