flykite: with all due respect to a long time rider, jerkybeef's FC really too jialat already dun u think? although i agree that FC on a sportsbike is higher but if it is much higher than other bikes of the same make and model then something must be wrong. who wants to spend more than they need to right ?

compfused: yes i agree they wun pay for everything. i think i made a mistake there. however it really depends on which bike shop u buy from. I got mine from HKL and they promised to change anything i wanted as long as is not created by an accident. therefore i suppoe it is how u bargained before u put downpayment. lol. but best is jerkybeef go try his best not to spend a cent at the bike shop then can treat us to coffee ! haha

also it is true that incomplete combustion will always occur in 2-stroke bikes but too much also not good. that time my fuel jet was way too big and caused my bike to vibrate quite strongly on low rev which made it very uncomfortable and i lost 60-80km on average every tank. i remeber that time i pumped full tank get only 120km before hit reserve. i almost cried!

jerkybeef: trust me when u have rectified this problem you will be damn happy one. when i fixed this problem that time on my bike i was practically singing on my ride home ! haha.

Yes.. thats true. i just came back from the bike shop. Turns out the cdi is faulty, so he change another one for me. Now my bike feels like got more power when riding.. wohoo!! :cheer:

dude, no need so worked up.

i'm just puzzled how he dervied the figures.

they may not even be accurate in the first place.

jerkybeef said he pumped $5 of petrol, got 35km.

did he fill from dry and run until dry?

how do you know if you have used up just nice the $5 worth of petrol?

which petrol? wat kind of road travelled? with pillon? wat is the carb diameter? wat tyre size and sprocket ratio?

and his mileage meter spoil, did he say something like tat?

u know wat i am trying to say?? no offence to you and i am not some fuel consumption expert like wat congx always say and jee siao. but i derive my figures from full tank pumps to the brim (so to eliminate the variable) and run till dry to test. even so it is not that accurate. it is after several pumps then u start to see an approximate constant figure each time u hit reserve. then we do our calculations from there and take a rough average. thats why u always hear pple say my full tank can go anywhere from 180km to 270km etc etc, which works out to be about 20-25km/L.

maybe jerkybeef can give us some accurate figures. several pple in the past also complained of the same problem, but in the end, there was nothing wrong with the bike, just faulty calculation from inaccurate figures.

and to add on (or amend wat i said just now), if someone is so concerned about fuel consumption, then he shdn't even ride a 2-stroke in the first place.

I agree with u that if fuel consumption is a problem den u probably shouldn't own a 2 stroke bike. But my fuel consumption really sucks man. Anyway i have fixed the problem something to do with the cdi, so yay!! :cheer:

btw cOngx i think larry did that paintwork at mohegean project or sth for s$800bux ++ :/

and just to add, im not a eddy ong supporter. i and my old bunch of kakis didnt really get a good impression of him. anyway i'd rather go to jb do my stuff instead.

800+ i rather save it for my downpaymet of my maybe class2a/2 bike.

and for me i personally think that if eddy ong was a better option all the old birds wld have most prob recommend eddy ong . i didnt see that shop name appearing till recently... not to defame the shop. but most of us still prefer xinghock to do our bikes.
