Rear wheel bearing significantly more expensive than front for SP is because it's a proarm design. It's more labour intensive than bikes with normal swingarms. Do check with your mech how much the changing of the bearings will cost. Prepare $200+ just in case. If it wobble that badly, really best to take public until you get it fixed. Safety first.

Oh I see, cause was told the bearings also relatively larger then normal swing arms bearing due the pro arm design. Don't dare take the bike to road also since wobble. Already left it at workshop waiting for repair job.

Sorry if its a dumb question.

My bike prev owner told me to use premium 2t oil & cheap low end 4t oil for gearbox. Ive also seen this kinda logic in other sp or 2t bike forums. Ive also read that its recommended to change oil every 3-5000km. Ive also read articles saying now with such improvements in lubrication technology you dont need to change oil so often. Even at 5000km the oil is still good. Frequent changing of oil is just a waste of oil & $$ as well as polluting the environment.

Now, ive read that motul claims their 4t oil is good for up to 12000km. That is abt a yrs worth of riding for me. So supposing if I just get motul 7100 for my gearbox, i can just go and do a full service once a year?? Instead of say routine oil change 3-5 mths & a full service 1-2 times a year if using cheap oil?

It's really up to you. I've also heard some SP riders have the mindset that just take the bike and ride, no need change engine oil, no need servicing, tyre also ride until botak then change, ride until engine piang then overhaul, all in interest of saving money.

I believe that if you take very good care of your bike, you will be confident when riding it also, that it will be a lot less likely to give you any problems.

But having said that, if you want to, you can probably do oil change maybe twice a year while using 7100, and a full servicing once a year. My threshold was 3000 km or 3months change oil, whichever came sooner. Oil if don't change for long period, will oxidize and cause problems. You can pour in brand new eo, and not ride the bike for a yr, when u drain the eo, it will be black instead of gold, cos of oxidation. Add in riding, and god knows what other metallic particles are inside that sludge if you don't change until a yr later.

Also, two-stroke, i'll prefer to use transmission oil instead of 4-stroke engine oil, because the protection and lubrication is more specific. Motul has transoil.

RIDE.

Thks for the advice. Wah! ride until chui then only do something type of mentality also have ah?

My idea wasnt so much abt saving $$ but more abt saving time & visits to mech. Bikeworks & planet can sometimes wait long long just to get something routine done. So was thinking if use premium oil, maybe can go less frequently & bypass routine stuff. Thats the whole idealah.

Ya i also thinking transmission oil is probably best. Yup have heard of motul transoil expert & castrol mtx. But so far only hv seen maxima gear 75W80 around. Was googling around & found only motoworld sell transoil expert but currently out of stock or not selling it anymore. I also checked motul singapore & they dont have it here, only UK & Australia hv. Castrol mtx also not available here, only australia.

Maybe mus also chk w your mech & see whether he still have stock or not.

Motul Transoil can be bought at Ang Mo Kio Industrial Park 2A, Ang Mo Kio Autopoint building, level 5. Shop name Inspire 21, but only open after 7pm to late night. The mech name Ah Heng. Transoil is about 20-ish.

The 75W80 transmission oils are for scooter use only, not for 2-stroke bikes. SP will be using 10W40. Do NOT use the scooter transoil under any circumstance. Way too thick.

For SP stock footrest, you can try Everfit, Ever Success or FJT Parts. But i don't suppose they come cheap. Unless you want to try carousell.

Hi Seniors, does it true (even it is using 2T pump) that if "Top Overhaul" (change new piston or cylinder) during the being before 3000km, it will be best that pour in the 2T oil (any brand can be use it? also whether semi or full synthetic but not the premix type) about 01 cap (2T bottle cap) into the fuel tank whenever after fill up the petrol in full tank. Which will make the piston & block more smoothly.

Also what about the riding? It that stay around 80km/h the 1st 1000km (1000km), then follow by 90km/h @ the 2nd 1000km (2000km), & then 3rd 1000km (3000km) below 100km/h so the all above no more then 7K RPM. right?

By the way, when the 2T Oil (can be any brand to be use? But not the premix type as currently using 2T pump) pour into the fuel tank will it cause any damage for the piston & block, make rusty the fuel tank or any other? Seem it not a 2T oil premix type.

Please advise. Thank

Running in is not so much about the speed, it's more about the rpm. Don't exceed 6.5k rpm while running in and you should be safe.

If you're using 2T pump already, not necessary to premix 2T into tank. Although there's no harm if you want to do so. Most 2T can premix, but premix-only 2T cannot go in pump. This is the only limitation other than cator-based cannot mix with synthetic. It's really down to individual preference. If you believe premixing 1 cap full will help, then do it, but to be honest, i think it's not much difference.

My SP was premix all the way because i removed the 2T pump. It's more troublesome with premix, but i don't need to worry about pump malfunction. Imagine every morning need shake shake the bike like 5bx, then pump petrol also must pour 2T first. Hahaha... As for smoother or not, i dunno lah, cos i never ride 2T pump before. All the way is premix.

My bike has a cranking sound, people say it's my exhaust.. I just bought it from shop. I suspect the exhaust inside is empty,

Any idea where can I get a stock exhaust?
