Good Afternoon fellow sp riders, hope some of you here can help me identify whats is wrong. My bike has a "clicking" sound coming from the front whenever moving forward. I tried pushing the bike forward w/o running the engine and there is still the clicking sound. I suspect its coming from the front wheels, anyone can narrow down the cause? Thanks you so much!

This is to correct my post some time last year abt estimating 2t consumption with a pump. I had mistakenly thought that the total amount of petrol consumed per liter of 2t was the dosage as like the premix case => 1 litre 2t for every 50 litres of petrol pumped = 1:50. This is in fact wrong! Sorry for the misinformation & my ignorance! The most we can say abt that 1:50 in the eg above is that its only a rough average of our low & high rev riding.

Truth is the pump is set such that at idling speed we will have a dosage anywhere betn 1:80 to 1:120 and a dosage of 1:20-1:30 at max throttle. Hence a pump is a variable input - the more you throttle, the more oil will be pumped, unlike premix which is a fixed input always. Hence theres no way to tell of our 2t dosage for pump the same way as we do with premix. Ride only around sg & you may top up 2t after 4-5 tanks of petrol. Take a ride to KL on NSHW at high revs & you may need to top up aftr 2-3 tanks.

The advantage of having a pump is that it saves oil at idling to low revs & ensures that enough oil is consumed at sustained high revs, unlike premix, it wld be too rich at idling & may not be sufficient at high revs if you dont fill a richer dosage. The downside to pump is you dont know if the pump has spoilt until your engine seizes! But thankfully pumps are usually quite reliable!

hi, my sp have serious leaking of petrol when on side stand. Within a day, half a tank of petrol is leaked away. Any idea of this problem? I have went to bike shop, they serviced the carburetor, and also ask me to switch the fuel valve to Off mode when stationery. I have tried it yesterday and going to monitor further. But i have concern will there be more problem if i constantly need to adjust my fuel valve?

Good Evening all SP riders,

Can any lao jiao here shed some clue where to find sp fairing bolts, nuts and screw. Missing a few here and there, some are rusty and rounded also. Would like to get all in a whole set if possible. Thanks in advance!

By right you're supposed to practice turning the fuel valve off when parked so to not flood the carburetor. Its normal to see an inaccurate fuel gauge reading when parked side stand. It will be a higher reading once you on your engine and get going for abit. Something to do with the shape of the fuel tank and the sensor i guess.

Hello, thanks for the advise. the leaking is quite serious at first, there's whole puddle of petrol on the floor. After i turned the fuel valve off, things look brighter now. I shall monitor for time being. Thanks!

Monitor your fuel consumption per tank, normally 200km+/tank . Not leaking when parked dosent mean problem solved. It maybe leaking when youre on the move, just that you dont realise.

I replaced the whole lot in JB. 29 nos if not wrong. Aluminium. RM$1 each. Labour cost is 30cts each. Went to lorong bapuk - X-Performance Motors. Theyve got quite a number of colours you can choose from.

Hi everyone, currently still taking license. going L7 tmr, if pass can book TP. I currently reserved a SP, it was good deal. 3k coe quite long. I can't immediately take over as next month I enlisting for ns. Seller is able to reserve for me until close to end of year with deposit and can do black and white, firstly what should be written in paper so that in any case of the seller running away with money or selling to someone else? and how much should be the deposit? what's on my mind is that, I wish to deposit a certain amount and before taking over ask one of my seasoned riding friends or a mechanic to check to see if everything okay and from there nego if possible. Any advice? I would like to reserve it as the other SPs on the market are either short COE or too ex.

Looking at your situation, it would not be advisable to reserve a bike yet. After L7, if you can get your tp before enlistment date that would be good. If not need wait 2months/4months for BMT to finish? After that if you going command school another story. Thing is that you cant apply leave during BMT and trainee days(at least for me). During my time, i cleared till L5 before enlistment. Then i have to wait for 1year before i have the time to take my tp 1st attempt. Had to renew my pdl and extend the expiry of my bbdc account. I was also very eager to start riding so I bought over an sp and put it under lay-up, until 3months later i pass my tp(2nd attempt). Moral of the story is to plan ahead. Just sharing my personal experience:cheers:

Yes what you saying is true too, mine is 4months because kena spf. I actually told the buyer that I only can take over close to end of year or once I got license. If I am able to book TP before my enlistment, can ask for gate pass to attend TP. This is because I know of friends who asked their CM. It's just that it seems to be a good deal and the current SPs on the market are going for 4K+. If I touch wood fail 1st TP, the next would only be on Dec. Anyone can guide what to write on black and white?

I went to another motorshop, the uncle suggested me to change the carburetor, which i did. No more petrol leakage though fuel valve is on. But my bike is having tough time kick starting after the change. Even need to attempt choke start. The RPM tend to drop to 1 and die off.

When did you last change spark plug? My sp requires to pull choke and start almost all of the times. Unless it has been parked less than 30minutes. Ask uncle at motordiam to adjust the idling rpm, maybe he forget when he change to new carb.

Good Morning Bros,

Anyone know how to distinguish stock fairings and imitation fairing and the difference? Looking to get new fairing, Eversuccess told me theirs is imitation while LAB told me theirs is stock. Thanks in advance!
