i just filled up castrol power 1 racing 2t, feel much smoother than putoline even after valve opens. almost or even smoother than motul 710

 

havent monitor smell and smoke. can be bought from ah boy for $18 i think. btw anyone know to to adjust the 2t pump to make it lower? my current setting mean i need to refill 2-3 tanks. which is too inconvenient for me and i dont race much.

i know how to open the panel, but not sure whether moving the nut up or down increase or decrease. cat find in manual also

 

Castrol power 1 racing 2t not bad. Was using it for abt 8 -9 mths before switching to motul. I got it abt $18 at bendemeer rd. At motodiam abt $22-23. But was surprised motul costs $28 there.

 

Need to refill 2-3 tanks is excessive. Uncle Chong told me shld be abt 5-7 tanks. There was a blog which showed how to do it by Willie Fang. If not wrong, nut turned down is to decrease. But unfortunately now cant see the photos on that blog cos that ability now blocked by photobucket it seems. http://williefang.com/2010/06/12/adjusting-nsr-150-oil-pump/. I had mine adjusted by Uncle Chong for $5 only!

i think i saw this in the earlier posts if im not wrong. hahaha. they wanna carrot you. but they got outbrained.

That day riding suddenly engine die. Stop at road side try to kick start at first, but can't. Push go car park try kicking again now the kick start lever can't even go down. Few of my friends say piston jam with block that's why can't even kick. Definitely need to do top overhaul liao. But I want to diagnose the exact issue and rough price for repair. In order to do that must tow to workshop, open engine let mech check then tow back home (cause I can't start repair now,no money) hoping you guys can help me out here. And also I've got no mech in sg. Always do top service at bapok but now engine related issues I won't do there. So am finding for a reputable mech here. Hsve heard of Andy, bayi and others. Currently I'm considering doing overhaul at planet motors. Any advise ?

 

sad to say , my dear fellow SP rider

this might sound harsh but its better to let go your bike and get something cheaper

SP is not a cheap bike to maintain.

1 step i remember abt the 2t pump adjustment is once you hv adjusted the nut up or down, you hv to chk by opening full throttle & make sure that the 2 marks at the pump there coincides. This is a critical chk.

I was at x performance to decarbonise exhaust fri nite. A bluish purple metallic sp came & parked nxt to mine. On front cowl had the name Kenneth. Was that you?

Anyone knows why my honda nsr 150 can't hit 9rpm at last gear? I did my overhual amd all but it still can't hit 9rpm ! Help!

whats your speed at 6th gear 7k rpm? do you feel or hear any choking when at 9k or is it normal sound but doesnt go up?

Like choking like that. Erm at 7rpm is around 100 or 110 can't remember. But is around there.

Bro you bringing your SP to track? If not, i dont see why you should worry. Previously my newly overhauled SP @5800rpm in 6th gear can hit 100km/h. Already over the speed limit in SG.

whats your weight and are you wearing loose baggy clothing which can cause drag?

My ratio of sprocket is front 15 back 38. Is after i overhual my bike and this problem came out. But yes my bike did mod before for the block. But now is the ori block.

@Crazybiker, mine is actually white SP but have repsol green top cowl if thats what youre referring to. Its a new replacement aftr my original white 1 cracked badly after kena buang 1 wet morning. Yes i wear a white hjc open face helmet. Am I the guy you saw?

 

@Gerrard smith When did you overhaul? Was the block & piston brand new? Completed break in process yet? I remember when i just overhauled with brand new block & cylinder, engine was kinda tight/stiff. Getting it beyond 5k revs was a bit difficult at 1st. Had to force it a bit. Brand new block & piston no continous revs beyond 8k rpm for 1st 1000km when breaking in.

Overhaul got 2 kind, new block+piston or full overhaul incl conrod. Which one you did? If only change block and piston, it may not have solved your problem. On another hand, your clutch healthy? Worn clutch can cause some power loss i heard.

reed valve leakage may caused poor performance on high RPM.

I had change everything already. I did not top or bottom overhual but FULL overhual ! But the problem is still there.

2x full overhaul can get another SP already... Like what fx said, best to provide us with more info if you want to narrow down the problem.

Haha. That wasn't me. I upgraded to 400x. Occasionally still warm up my bike and race around car park.

 

Hmm. Thou I upgraded. But the sound of NSR rev-ing is still deeply engraved in me. Rode my nsr for 8 years. Very reliable and served me really well.

 

I just so happened to accidentally open an old nsr gathering video taken long time ago. Then came in here to take a look. SP-irited
