Hi all,

Any good recommendation(s) on where to get an NSR 150 SP exhaust belly? I was advised that my exhaust will not pass vehicle inspection due to a welding mark on it (i think for decarbonsing)..

Posted

sta jurong are more relaxed in inspections i've heard. can try shops see if they got spare, maybe project or planet motors.

or vtec88 for scrap parts, carousell is good if yiu want to rent one also.

mine has welding mark but shop painted it so can't really see and i passed

saw x performance shop at bapok, its the first few shops, white signboard. a bit easy to miss if you dont read the signboards

You sure its white signboard? I always remembered it as red. The shop is i think the 2nd or 3rd unit of the 2nd blk of terrace buildings. It is 1 of the very few shops which operates 2 storeys. Downstairs is workshop. Upstairs is helmets, apparels, oils etc. The mechanics all wear red t shirts. Its probably the brightest lit workshop along that whole stretch. There is another x performance shop opp the road which operates as single storey, alongside the road leading to JB town. That signboard also red.

Hi guys, I just brought an SP and the cover set is cracked with broken brackets. I was thinking of either respraying or buying a new cover set. The workshop guys told me that if I chose to respray, they will fix the brackets with rivets and fiber glass. The price difference for the two is quite big, respray is 450 dollars and new cover set is 750 dollars + respray. Anyone can give a recommendation of which to choose? I am not sure how are they going to fix the cracked portion of my cover set if I send it for respray. Honestly, newbie rider here. This is my first bike.

respray and patch the cracks might not look good if not done properly. the layers will be uneven. and still can crack in future. best is get new set for the cracked parts

anyone use gear oil for your sp or any 2 stroke bikes?

any difference over 4t EO?

The mech recommended to me by prev owner used gear oil. Castrol Manual GL4. Problem is that oil is heavy duty oil meant for heavy vehicles! Caused me a lot of problems cos clutch plates got stuck. Whole clutch changed by TSK.

There is gear oil made for 2 stroke bikes - Motul Transoil Expert, Can get at X performance. The other one is Elf Moto Gear Oil 2t from TSK. Ive only tried moto gear only. These oils are semi synthetic. I still personally prefer Elf Moto 4 Tech (fully synthetic) over Moto Gear. Gear shifting feels smoother & oil lasts longer. But a bit more ex la. Moto gear abt Rm64.

Other 4t oils which ive tried is Motul 7100 sgd$26. This 1 also quite good. Planet have. Castrol power 1 racing 4t not bad but not as lasting but pricewise quite cheap sgd$18.
