I was looking for caberg duke and nolan n103 and n91 or rjays flip up. Somehow some of the inner shells for other helmet like agv seems smaller. Any idea if caberg at regina cost how much?

I'd not recommend flip helmet for safety reasons.

I'd recommend full-face helmets instead.

Most, if not all, flip helmets have the face shield (mouth piece) very much closer to the face, compared to a full-face helmet.

And because of the way the flip helmets are constructed, the face-shield would be the first to collapse in the event of a head-on impact. It is not constructed to handle impacts.

I use the Caberg Duke. Nothing bad to say about it. I like that the pads can be removed for washing so its not stinky. Also, the Matt Black color matches my scooter.

However, I find that I don't really flip it up anymore (used to do it for the shiok factor when new).

I installed the Sena bluetooth unit on it and I have tunes and can answer phone calls while riding. BTW, the Sena unit is really damn good. People say they cannot tell that I'm riding while talking to them, coz got no background noise and the call is crystal clear.

Anyway, lately I'm thinking about getting a fixed full face helmet. That's for another thread.

Btw I bought my helmet from LAB (Regina). Service is good there. No attitude.

Yup. I get my helmets from Regina as well.

They're really good.

As for Caberg... I used to own a Caberg. Looks damn cool, but it's all plastic. So I'm not sure how much protection I'd get in the event of an accident.

Try to look for other brands.

Caberg is very plasticky and flimsy. Not sure how much protection you'd get from it in the event of an accident.

Nolan: If I'm not wrong, the TP here are using Nolan helmets. I've tried them. They're really very heavy.

I'd recommend a kevlar helmet.

Recommend you test the helmets you are interested in for fit and comfort before buying.

tried Shoei Neotec and Schuberth C3 Pro, both M size

material/build , prefer Schuberth

Go for the best protection you can afford ... and hope that you don't need that protection at all

Unfortunately the Caberg Duke's chinbar comes in very close to the jaw for me, barely .5 cm of a gap. In a crash where the helmet might move slightly, will definitely come into contact.

Bought a Lazer Monaco instead, had much more clearance behind the chinbar. Nice helmet, much lighter than expected but still considered to be one of the top options per the SHARP ratings from the UK. Happy with it.

Hi there, sorry I'm new... Where is LAB shop? Thanks..!

LAB=Lim Ah Boy. Kelantan Lane. Directly opposite the infamous DSC Clinic (Department of Sexually Transmitted Infections Control).

Many bike accessory shops around there. A short distance away is their sister shop, Regina (corner of Kelantan Lane and Jalan Besar). Beside Regina is Chiap Lee, another motorbike accessories shop. Across Jalan Besar is Powerstar, owned by Chong Aik. And along nearby Desker Road is Chong Aik.

I recently bought a riding jacket from LAB. I had a not-so-good experience with them 2 years ago, but the service for my recent purchase was surprisingly good. They were slightly rushed but polite throughout, even thought it was evening and the shop was busy, and even gave me a $10 discount for having to wait 20 minutes while they collected the stock from their warehouse in the rain.

Just bought the Neotec from Chong Aik at $580 with PinLock

The Multitec bought it from Regina in 2008 at $550. Just replaced all internal padding at $160

Shoei flip-up helmets have excellent build quality and comfort. Excellent exterior, interior mechanism and the liner padding. Money well spend, definitely no regret.

I have used a HJC Sy-Max II and Caberg Justissimo, both not as good as the Shoei in terms of quality, comfort, durable and quietness. :thumb::thumb:
