Knee Guard. Do you use them ?

hello everyone out there.

i am searching for knee guards whereby they can also protect the shin area(cover more area,feel more secrure ma!),suppose they are called knee/shin guard? correct me if i am wrong

any where i can view and try them here in singapore?

normal knee guards are quite cheap though,starting from 10,20?

but i lyk those which cover the shin,more protection,imo

ooo im choosing between buy a pair of knee guard or buying a armored jeans that i can wear on a daily basis.

Let me share my view..

 

Knee Guards that you are keen.

 

Good points -

- can wear any pants/jean that you preferred

- covered alot more area on your leg

- can wash easily - no need take out and wash separately

 

Bad points -

- touring will get very irritated due to straps

- very hard to keep if you going shopping or anywhere else after that.

- looks ugly if u put it outside as hard to "match"/ might even scratch your tank

 

Riding Pants

 

Good Points -

- Just wear it, no straps nothing, looks better and more handsome

- there's additional padding over the sides (backside) for safer protection

- Cooling as there will be mesh all over it for Singapore humid weather

 

Bad Points -

- Looks too fierce, cool.. whahaha! *just for laughter

- Coverage of area on leg is definitely lesser

- pocket limited, lesser than jeans unless you get the newer versions..

- Wash need to remove all padding else they might get mound..

 

If really want to get knee guard, look for those with "mechanical" assistance for bending your knee.. I saw it once and it's estimated S$80.. but.. really nice and cool..

Sorry, don't quite get it . . . let's say you guys ride 5-days a week to/from work and assuming weekends either take public transport or drive car, that means you wear the armoured jeans without washing them for 5-days?!?!
