don bother abt ssdc or bbdc if u are taking at cdc. don worry bro. u got 1 year. if u clear every lesson on 1 attempt, u only need to go cdc less than 10 times. that's include circuit rev.

i got my 2A feb 2020. i go to cdc less than 10 times. 3 lessons + 3CR + 1 TP. From enrol to TP, 4 months

That was before lockdown....now very hard to get slot... Hopefully now phase 3 will be better.

I'm still stuck at first lesson 1st gear but now moving to 2nd gear. What i want to know is from 1st to 2nd gear when your toe flip up the gear will it mistakenly go to 3rd gear cause I'm afraid that will happen . if i shift gear and it will stop at 2nd gear i will have no problems but if i need to remember where 3rd 4th gear is through muscle memory then i needed more practice. if it simple then i just need to rev then clutch in then kick up the to 2nd gear not worrying it will go to 3rd if its impossible to go from 1st to 3rd gear then let go of the clutch slowly and fully and throttle. Then when stopping just off throttle then clutch in and front and rear brake? is this right? how do you get better at clutch and throttle, still hard to find the sweet spot for throttle. i read you have to put your wrist perpendicular to the bar on on the throttle but then the instructor ask me to grip it higher?

when you flip up the pedal from 1st to 2nd gear, it will be at 2nd gear. dont have to worry that u will go into 3rd gear, unless u flip it upwards one more time.

when coming to a stop, brake, clutch-in, and kick down all the way to 1st gear. try to cultivate this habit of being in 1st gear before coming to a complete stop, bcos for future assessments and TP test, failure to change to 1st gear before stopping is 4 demerit points.

with more practice u'll get better at clutch and throttle control. just remember: if you throttle and find that the bike isnt moving forward,  let go of the clutch a little bit more, instead of throttling more.

grip higher meaning?

Thanks for the reply , so for coming to a stop from 2nd gear its brake clutch then change to 1st gear mean no need brake again with front and rear brake cause i thought it will be clutch in then change to 1st gear then brake front and rear? Thanks again

the brakes will be applied all the way, even if the bike has come to complete stop. so you will apply brakes, clutch-in and change to 1st gear, and keep holding the clutch in until the bike stops.

not to worry, during your next lesson the instructor will teach yall the techniques of shifting up and down gears and braking. dont be so stressed up😉

1) You cannot go up 'accidentally' into 3rd from 1st. Kick up 1 time cleanly, it will go into 2nd gear. Same for 2nd gear, kick up once, you will go into 3rd gear, not possible to go into 4th.

2) Muscle memory not exactly, but you do need to remember what gear you are in because the Class 2B bikes don't come with gear indicator. You must remember whether you are in gear 1 / 2 / 3.

3) If you're talking about muscle memory for gear shift, then it's pretty straightforward. Down for gear 1, then rest is up up up up up.

4) You must only clutch in just before you stop - make use of your engine braking. If you clutch in too early for emergency stop, i think it is 2 or 4 points for improper technique.

5) Wrist position, it's personal preference. Do whatever feels best/most comfortable/most confident for you.

Good luck! You'll get the hang of it soon. Not a matter of IF, but a matter of WHEN you will get your license.

Thanks guys. Yea I was asking for the lessons availability.  But anyways I had problem with SSDC enrolment and didn’t want to waste anymore time waiting so I end up enrolling at bbdc.

my friend enrolled SSDC for 2a. He got lucky and manage to grab a few trysell lesson which are days apart. But sometimes have to wait up to 2 weeks.

As for bbdc so far I’m able to attend 3 lessons within a week. Actually more if I had the time because there seems to be always Pple selling their booked lesson. If not, the frequency is maybe just 3 to 5 days between lessons.

if i were u,i would take at ssdc cos since u took your 2b there, u are familiar with the circuit. The test is in the circuit only. different between 2b & 2a is additional bumpy cos 6sec. plank timing 8sec. ebrake speed 40-45km/h

Yes and no. I had problem with online enrollment. Note that i can enroll on 2nd but because of this i need to book an e-appointment to do physical enrollment with the earliest date being 11th. And knowing the lessons availability which can be 1-2weeks away means the earliest first lesson I can attend is est to be 17th.

And yet here I am in BBDC already on lesson 3, attending 2 to 3 lessons in a week. :)

Unless of cause if I am not rushing for my 2A, I would enroll with SSDC since their circuit is easier to pass.

test same but BBDC got many lanes. SSDC all single lane except for tha traffic junction. So at BBDC more rooms for errors/points. Plus SSDC no need to push bike back at the end point. BBDC have to. If drop = GG

Haven't pass...I am stuck at lesson 3. Hopefully I can pass today and book TP on 18th Feb.

let me share some pointers:

plank time start : front wheel touch plank Time stop : rear wheel touch ground. more than 8sec

slalom time start : front wheel cross yellow line. speed up at last cone to meet timing. within 6sec

fig8 time start : front wheel cross yellow line time stop : back wheel cross yellow line within 11sec

crank cos time start : front wheel cross yellow line time stop : back wheel cross yellow line within 6sec

bumpy cos : time start front wheel touch 1st bump time stop : back wheel touch last bump more than 6sec

always check blind spots before turning left & right, before bends, before change lane, before moving off

check back left if turn left or left bend. don be shy to turn your head. at least 90deg.

always signal 1st before check blind spots.

if oncoming vehicle signal to turn left, wait for them to complete their turn then u proceed unless the class 3 instructor signal u to execute your turn.

vehicle nearest to the kerb has the right to make their turn 1st.

@laviz

Yea bbdc test date consider quite fast for now although I heard before COVID Pple can get their 2a within a month.
But it’s ok it’s not that bad.

I pass.. now waiting for tp XD. Hope I pass as well. Don’t wanna wake up early with all the anxiety again lol

Not sure what’s the norm rate for taking revision. I planning to take quite a few...

self rev should be cheaper cos u are on your own pract. take at least 1 to 2. practise on your weaker station. e.g. plank, slalom or bumpy. the rest just go thru is enough.

choose the self revision closest to your tp date.
