I dont think they even know thay we are being bullied by them!

1st. They have imposed heavy fines DURING this situation to the victims who seek safety parking elsewhere. e.g. hiding their bikes. They stand by their book that anyone who park elsewhere will be heavily fined.

2nd. They do not waive the fines and despite being explained of the situation. Mp also called in a few times but they give the victims a cold shoulder and a hard time.

3rd. They do not even put in effort to install security cameras or organize an effective neighborhood watch team to stake out the night.

4th. The police have been notified so many times and yet the vandals can do it for the 7th time????? Yet when you watch crimewatch, they seem to be very quick to catch the offenders.

You served NS before right? How did issues get handled when it doesnt fall under the specific purview of any office? (grey area)

YES. TAI CHI. They push around till the someone finally decides whose job is it. I moved into my new house since last July. My water supply gets interrupted daily at peak hours. I called PUB, HDB, Town Council, Building maintenance total about 15 times. Till now... NOW.. 2013 already.. Problem goes unsolved. I have to tolerate the problem everyday.

How can they not be resolved to help the residents? The victims? And instead be unbending, inflexible and not show a single ounce of sympathy to the victims??

Is this not call bullying?

if it is your bike again for the 3rd or 5th time. Would you still be able to sleep peacefully if you park at the "proper parking lots" when you know it has happened many times before. Or would you hide your bike at some corner and cover it up? At least till the vandals have been apprehended?

One word, SUAY.... Last resort.. STOMP IT!

Posted

only way to solve this since no authority willing to 'help' is to catch them yourselves.

eg: by waiting or by using spy cams

i recommend spy cams though

My bike got pushed over at choa chu kang crescent car park and woodlands street 81 car park... Not sure why they specifically aim my bike though... Lol... I'm an aggressive rider... But only to Malaysia plate bikes and comfort taxi drivers... Sometimes Singapore drivers too, if they purposely tailgate and lane change without checking blind spot and signaling, nearly causing me to hit them... I still don't see why my bike keeps getting pushed over... Wtf...

Lol... Nothing to say... My bike got pushed over, the culprits were caught on the CCTV installed in the Carpark, and I still have to hire a lawyer to sue them for the damages... Wtf right? What kind of law is this? So does that mean I can do it to anybody who can't afford a lawyer? Screwed up country this is...

W...T...F ??? unbelivable b.s. of our laws!:faint:

if what u say is true, then what is the point of CCTV / spy cam?

if it is true, what is the point of us even paying to park? this pisses me off completely, there are going to be idiots, trouble makers in this world. we can't do anything about it but blame it on bad luck but this kind of nonsense " law by law" is ridiculous!

wait a minute, i really hope you are exaggerating or there is some misunderstanding with the officers. if not, this is absolutely insane, why do we even bother to pay for a police force that won't punish vandalism & damage to private property?

this must be a joke man, a downright mockery of our laws. come on, officers, how can we be proud of our nation when we have such shameful inadequate laws?

i still believe our police force are not that mad.Perhaps i misunderstand, are you instead refering to the town council staff?

Yea! Don't wait for this thing to simmer down and end of the day it may be someone else that will be going through the same fate! problem is, newspaper and stomp also controlled! How??? You all know MRT broke down again right? Never see it on stomp, only heard it for a few seconds on the 8 o'clock Chinese news. Damn these media too... We are like North Korea ??

Instead they are very good, No.. I say excellent in catching parking offenders, minor illegal modifications. But those that can cause harm to human lives kind of offends like using hand-phone while driving, speeding in residential areas, tail-gating, reckless driving. How come not caught?? See them on the road every day. Every xxxxxxx day!

I Just passed by 4 cars on the road just now. All 4. As in 1 car behind each other... ALL talking on the phone! How come so daring leh?

might be the work of ah long too. there are recent reports that they are now targetting debtors and their neighbors vehicles. smart move by them. create artwork at the debtor flat = vandalism, but however create inconvenience to debtor vehicle = mischief. charge less heavy and usually is civil suit.

But the Ah Long also not smart leh. When doing all this creative work, he should at least draw picture on the wall stating the debtor is who mah.

then it seems a lot of people misunderstand how the law works.

when a culprit breaks the law, he is punished with fine and/or jail. thats all.

no law on Earth makes the culprit pay cash to the victim directly for the damages he caused. anyone got hear of murderer being made to pay money to the family of his murdered victim? in fact, even if the culprit pays full cash money to watever damage he caused, this only reduces his punishment, he does not go away scot-free.

in a traffic accident where a victim is paid the damages caused by the culprit, that is insurance, not law.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

Then what is the use of police. They dont find evidence and proceed to bring the culprit to court?

yes they do. and if found guilty, the culprit gets fine and/or jail depending on the offence. but cash compensation for damage caused by the culprit is not a given. i'm not a law expert, i onli know that only in some instances of direct cash theft or embezzlement is the culprit ordered to pay back the money stolen. vandalism, causing hurt or even murder, you never see the culprit ordered to pay damages or medical fees to the victim.

this isn about our police slackers or our govt screwed up, i'm just saying it like its is, this is how modern laws work, in most if not all modern countries.

Yes i guess you are right, from my understanding if the vandal did something to YOUR property, then it is up to you to sue him and get back whatever losses you have incurred. But if the vandal vandalize against the government's property then it is a totally different ball game.

So what does People's Action Party mean? It means government can arrest people who vandalize government property but can't arrest those who vandalize a private person's property? So where's the action they're doing for us people? Should change to Government's Action Party la pls... -.-

i'll just repeat what i said earlier.

a culprit that vandalizes a person's private property will be arrested, and will be punished with a fine and/or jail. but in practically all modern countries, the culprit will not be made to pay for the damages. remember, Michael Fay was caned.

i donno why ppl keep interpreting it as the culprit goes away with zero punishment, or that this law is unique to singapore.

Then probably thats where civil law comes in? sue?
