Bought one 2 months ago frm motoworld. By far the most value for money helmet I've owned but that's not saying much cause I've only 2 other helmets (hjc cl-st and gpr).

Anyways, I wear size m (head size 58) and the fit is snug just the way I like it. Ventilation in that helmet is superb, however it does come at a price. It's noisy on normal sg roads (100-120km/h road speed). While we are on 'bout fitting, shark has a cut out on the cheek pads for sunglasses or spectacles to fit comfortably.

When riding on the expressway, I find that it is more stable as compared to my hjc. Did I tell you how thick the visor is? My guess is ard 3mm or so. One down side on the exterior is that, the plastic vent cover on mine looks as if its coming off on mine.

Every padding in the helmet is removable but what I find the most pain in the butt to fit back on is the 1 piece neck curtain. Takes me an hour to put back on the helmet on my first try.

If my brief review doesn't satisfy you, search videos on it on youtube (fyi the race R is similar to the race R pro except for the spoileron the helmet). You should give this helmet a chance if you're looking into buying high end helmet.

thanks for the brief insight of this helmet, you bought the Race -R or Race - R Pro?

mind share with me the price you bought the helmet? Yup, I tried the display set and I like the easy slip in of glasses... as compared to other brand of helmet. I realise that the outer shell of the helmet looks bigger as well. Does it fog up easily? My current OGK FF4 does fog up easily if I close up the visor tight enough.

Tried on the S800 many years ago. It's light weight, looks cool, but not suitable for me. The front part of the helmet too close to my face, I can partically kiss the helmet wall inside. As a result I got difficult breathing inside it in the morning when the temperature is very cold. In the end sold the helmet after 1 ride.

My impression of Shark is it seems to decline on reputation in the recent years. Quality wise I can't comment on it.

After that I got a Scorpion EXO-700. Visor is very thick and got a layer of coating on the inside of the visor to makes it fog-free. Not sure how long the coating will last, cos sold away the helmet after a few rides. The design is nice, but it's very heavy, and the size seems to run small. Their visor changing mechanism not bad though.

Dun really like Scorpion due to the quality issue of the one which I got - brand new but got paintwork dinks, not a good sign on QC.

In the end I got a HJC AC-11. Looks big on my head but it's light weight, comparable to the Shark. Quality wise is good, and coating on the paint work is consistent. An above-the-average helmet at that time. I'm still using it now.

Bought my Race R at $ 400(comes with oxford helmet bag), however no psb sticker (who needs psb sticker when its got "sharp" 5star rating and ece certified, unless stopped by lta of course haha). It does fog abit but not severe untill you can't see what's infront of you (happens to me once when riding at night ard 12mn-1 am) but clears as soon as I started moving thanks to the huge intake at the front. Can't comment if it works as good in the rain cause haven't ridden in the wet with this helmet on. To me personally I don't trust anti fog film which comes stock frm the factory be it this manufacturer or others cause it will wear out if you frequently clean your visor. You might want to invest in thing like "pinlock shield" for a fog free experiance. As for shell size, think there's 3. Fron what I know size m and s has the same shell.

I'm looking at HJC as well, but has yet decide which line of product I should go after for this brand. I tried their HL ST (*if I'm not wrong) fitting quite good but when I don my glasses, I had difficulties going through....

I'm looking at its Vision R too, they claimed its a wide vision type of FF equivalent to open face. But quite expensive too, has you bought your S700?

just bought my S700.

was previously using my HJC cl st. @mild_slevin the hjc cl-st can fit glasses, you just gotta know how. angle the legs abit upward and slide it in then push down on ears.

for entry level helmet, HJC Cl-St is pretty good value for money. for 150 (100 bucks if you go buddy promo), solid full face with nice design and features. 3 star Sharp rating as well. PSB approved. Basic but good value. no sunvisor and is abit loud when riding at speed at a certain angle.

i upgraded to the S700 cause my HJC 2 years old liao, and i drop a few times already. Inside also smelly even after I wash.

My head shape fits the helmet perfectly, just like the HJC. its a bit lighter but the shell size M is same as the HJC's L size.

Quality is good also, can tell just by feeling the inner material and the visor mechanism. solid. comes with sunvisor and i tried it. good stuff man, finally won't get blinded by sun or reflection.

price is 220. with free helmet bag if you buy now. btw its not PSB approved. uses clip instead of double D ring. but is 4 star SHARP rated.

I tried HJC Cl-St too, the fitting is good as well... just that glasses well maybe like you said need some angling to get in. But I find that shark helmet shell size pretty big... so much bigger than my current FF4. (*visually)

FF4 not bad as well, but tend to fog up very easily and quite some wear on vent and interior. I'm using it for 2 years plus now... & its light weight as well.

How is the noise level of the S700 compared to HJC CL-ST?

compared to CL-ST, noise level is only marginally lower. ventilation is pretty good but you need to be angling the helmet downward abit.

it is exactly the same as the SHARK S900, just with different vent covers. it's also abit heavier than the HJC even though it weighs less.
