Ya its a standard FC for S4. But some of our brothers here can hit 400+km bf res. Tat is sometin my PB1 has nvr bn able to achieve so far.

I ve a fren riding spec1 hitting 450km bf res. Dnt knw whether true or not. He told me he pickup vry slow, chnge gear 3-4rpm n top speed at 80km/h even on e xpressway!

He vry rarely opens his vtec. I tink urs can be better if u dnt always open e vtec n b chill on ur riding style:cheeky:

 

u tell yur friend if he nv open vtec , comfirm spoint with in 4mths 100% granty thats why i keep ask ppl to open Vtec once in a while

might be ur float needle valve?

first thing, check your tyre pressure.

checked my tyre pressure. all ok. bro, what is float needle valve? any1 can explain in detail? i kinda new as this is my first bike and i dun wanna kena cheated by shop changing other unnecessary stuff..

i change 4 of this small thing in my carb $15 each

ok float needle valve i went to change is 25/needle orginal honda 1 changed 4 = 100 + wash crab and tunning 65 and changed spark plug now everything also good!

i changed 4 for $60 for those small little thingsat unique motors. shd be consider cheap then

do check on the parts which is easier to check. then slowly go deeper to troubleshoot the main prob. go step by step.

I did not say never. I juz said rarely opens. He knows it wil damage if never use. So far he has been using the bike for 3yrs and no problem so far. :thumb:

thats the needle valve.

 

U sure the valve needle has anything to do with high FC.. The function of this needle is to keep the carburator petrol full.. and not overflow.. Normally need to change this valve needle when carburator leaks petrol when park overnight or engine cool down.. Shouldn't need to change if no leaks..

 

The one that is effecting the FC is the Jet Needle found in each carburator and it is bigger than the size of Tooth Picks. It is used to control the mixture of fuel to the throttle. It comes in few diameter for the needle that determine the fuel flow i.e if smaller the dia. the more the fuel flows..

Hi everyone, Im kinda new to this thing. Im riding a spec 1(FR plate). Just bought it 4 months back. The fuel consumption in the beginning used to be 300km before hittin reserve. Now its like 250km den it hits reserve. Can anyone tell me why? I ride as per normal, changing gear at 4 or 5 rpm. My tyre pressure is ok, sprocket ok. Issit becos the carb pin needle or sumthing? Due to wear and tear.. Cos tsts wat i heard from sum ppl. How much will it cos me? My budget not tat big. [/quote]

 

 

Bro, i feel that mileage before or to reserve not important. Why don't you calculate mileage against litres? Then maybe we can gauge whether it's high consumption or not.

 

Talking about that , mine 21-22km/l , is that high consumption?
