I have also been looking at the scoots that you have listed, decided to go with the GTS last week. Collecting end of the month. After I confirmed the bike, I came across the Kymco Downtown 125... which meets my criteria as well. Perhaps listing out your priorities will help decide on the bike. For me, priorities are:

1. Good, strong modern headlights.

2. Decent storage, at least 1 FF helmet or laptop

3. $600 +- yearly depreciation

4. 30+ km/l efficiency

5. Decent mechanic near my place ( east)

6. 10L fuel tank

BTW i just passed and have been riding only 2 months, the GTS will be my 3rd bike !!!

Wow 3 bikes in 2 months... :) Thanks bro... checked out downtown 125 as well... looks pretty cool....

But I am wondering if 125cc is enough or not.. I mean will I regret not having that little extra power?? :(

Actually pcx125 attracted me alot except for its small look and 125 engine...

In my viewpoint,

In terms of looks, maintenance and repairs

SYM GTS200 > SYM Joyride 200i Evo > PCX 125

In terms of reliability and convenience,

SYM Joyride 200i Evo > SYM GTS200 > PCX 125

Just my point of view.

Bro I notice that pcx is like ur last choice.. may i know y??

And ur spot on when putting joyride behind gts in looks.. I love the look of joyride except for its empty flat area where i rest my feet... spoils the whole look ...

And the bike shop said joyride comes with fuel injection where as gts doesnt.. how much of a difference does it make?

And if anyone could advise me if I would actually feel bad about not having that extra power on a 125cc bike??? 125 - 180 - 200 Does it make any difference in daily use..

hi dude,

1. I'm thinking of getting the gts200, in fact, did some paperwork on a used FBCxxx (2018). but now i'm thinking will it be better buying new instead? the used bike went for engine overhaul, accident free.

2. speedometer, think it's better to just wait for the full part replacement?

3. how many km you've done? mah motors is the agent right?

Do you also have similar prb with the speedo?

Me being a P plate, I find the Fino @ 115cc enough for local roads. My Phantom, higher cc , feels maybe a bit more powerful to go up to 90.

CC is not everything with regards to power, pillon/solo, rider weight, top boxes, luggages etc play a big part too. Having said that, power/speed is not my key concern. Bottom line, sit on them, see which you look the best on !!

I get my sym part from malaysia. There's a factory RO at skudai. They also do servicing.

If you order the parts from SIngapore dealer, I not really sure what the price different. But for me, I find that Malaysia SYM regional office selling at much better price. Just my 2 cents....

I find it ugly, the most alien looking of the three and i am sceptical with machines with way too many electronics in them.

The joyride head/face is ugly. Looks like an alien cyclops. Even the new joyride looks ugly.

If you have ridden a carb bike before, you will know that fuel injection is better. The computer controls everything. So when you start your bike. you dont need to worry about everytime need to adjust idling, etc. The computer will automatically select how much fuel and air to mix. But if that thing spoil, alot of money you need to spend to fix. For me, i don't mind getting an fuel injected bike because i am getting sick and tired of carb bikes.

125cc, 150cc, 200cc. All have a very big difference when riding on the road. In my opinion, its more of a pickup speed issue. So if you need to get out of a sticky situation, 200cc will give you a higher chance of survival as you have more power at your hands.

I have been riding my GTS 200 for 3 days now and enjoy every minute of it. Only problem is the mirrors are quite far apart, and just nice to whack MPV mirrors when squeezing thru. Power wise, its a step up from my Fino (115cc) in terms of top end. Pick up, I feel that the Fino a bit better, maybe cos lighter bike.

Have you decided which machine for you?

Not yet bro,

Totally confused. I want the looks and the power. PCX for some reason attracts me with the fuel efficiency (Since I am intending to keep this bike for long) But totally worried about its power.

Good to hear you are enjoying your gts 200 :)

Extremely sorry for the late reply bro. Thanks for the effort you put in to reply. Really does give me alot to think about. I guess fuel injection is the right thing to do then. Since I am relatively new to owning a bike.

Unfortunately that kinda rules out gts200 :(
