Hi guys, I am selling my GTS200 Dec 2011:

http://www.singaporebikes.com/forums/showthread.php/428098-WTS-DEC-2021-SYM-GTS-200-BLACK-Smooth-many-upgrades-problem-free-good-deal?p=8297223#post8297223

DEC 2011 SYM GTS 200 BLACK.

I got it just 2+ months to replace my Phantom. After riding it, I fell in love with maxi scooter. I loved this bike so much. I was sure I was gonna keep it for awhile. Problem free, smooth, easy, auto transmission. So easy to ride (especially compared to my old phantom).

However, I just got my 2A and have been poisoned by another 2A maxiscooter. So my heart tells me I need to upgrade. With a heavy heart, I will be letting my SYM gts200 go.

About the GTS200:

Cosmetic condition: 8.5/10 (previous owner sprayed "matte" black, but I don't think its really matte. black plastic slightly faded, but not that bad. Put some armorall can be darken again. Overall, its not bad.)

Running condition: 9.5/10

Low Mileage: 23000 km.

Bike performs flawlessly. Smooth, never fails to start even after many days never use. Easily hits 100kmh on highway without much vibration / noise. Tested up to 120kmh.

Excellent FC. Currently abt 30km/l for street riding + some highway + some pillion. Can go up to 33-34 km/l if doing fuel efficient highway riding. Even if heavy throttle in street, can get at least 28km/l.

No overheating problems. Temperature usually one bar, MAX two bar (but will always drop back to one bar). Runs quiet and cool.

Recent Upgrades / Parts changed:

[before I got my 2a license, I was very sure I was going to keep the bike for a while, hence I spent quite a bit on the following]

--New belt (1K+ km only)

--New Coolant + Oil

--Just serviced clutch (nice and vibration free)

--Upgraded Dr Pulley 16.5g rollers (Best balance for good FC, and sufficient power. Nice and quiet at highway speed RPM at 6k at 90kmh)

--Will throw in another Dr Pulley 14.5g brand new unused, in case you want to go for high torque.

--Also using Dr Pulley u shoe (definitely smoother than stock)

--New rectifier

--New front brake calipers

--New Front tyre (1k+ km only)

--Upgraded to Coocase Rack (MUCH stronger and sturdier than the freebie rack the GTS 200 usually come with) + Givi 45 box.

--Old rear shock was getting a bit stiff, so upgraded to fully adjustable TSR shock. Can adjust spring preload, dampening, and rebound. Currently set up for cushy ride so my pillion has less bumpy. Can easily adjust to be stiffer for those who prefer a tighter feel.

--Newly wrapped seat with non slip matte textured rubber / leather.

--Replaced windscreen with brand new one (old one a bit yellow)

--Made new black / silver license plate (high class type, looks HOT!!!) FBF 8XXX (quite nice number)

--Will throw in additional belt (slightly used, 2000km)

Looking at $6.2k, slightly neg for sincere buyers. Those who are in the market for a good SYM GTS200, you will know this is a good deal, especially for a problem free bike, with many upgrades and functioning well.

SMS me direct nine eight eight 9 0 7 two 1. I can send pics.

Hi Everyone,

Newbie here.

Haven't rode for more than 10 yrs and got myself a 2nd hand GTS 200 abt 3 weeks ago.

Bike is 3.5yrs old with abt 70k mileage when I got it.

I'd like to know if there's any indication as to when the clutch set or variator should be replaced i.e. by mileage, number of months, signs of wear and tear etc.

Or will regular servicing of these 2 parts suffice.

Hope to learn from you guys here.

Thank you.

@back2ride welcome to the club :cheer:

if you find there is excessive clutch slipping, you should service your scooter CVT.

as for whether the CVT components need to be changed, you will know after inspecting it. normally, the rollers, belt, u-clips will need regular replacement. as for the clutch pad, it limit is about 2 mm. will strongly suggest doing a full CVT servicing and check the parts if you just take over the scooter.

we have a DIY group where we will do our own servicing. if you are keen, you can join us.

Hi Guys,

I've got a 07 Gts200 just not long ago. Having this problem...I have alot of difficulty when push start my bike. After push start, I have to maintain the throttle for like 1 min, if not the rpm will drop below 1 and the bike will die. If the bike dies, I will have alot of difficulty to push start the bike again. After the bike is warmed up, the rpm will maintain 1.5k-2k den it wouldn't die anymore. Any kind brother can help? I'm a new biker...

Btw, I've changed my starter motor and battery 2mths ago. Spark plug and EO also jus changed. No idea why so difficult to push start esp when engine is cold. Thanks guys...

Nothing wrong with 07 bike. It's the auto choke and carb symptoms of its getting too old. I have 07 bike too and have the same thing. Just hold for a while and it will be OK.

Hi Mudai, thanks for the reply. I see. But if my bike rpm falls below 1 and dies. It'll be very difficult to push start again. Is that normal? Thanks bro.

Ow ... So meaning after your first start then your bike very hard yo to start again. Then it's not normal. Is your voltage good ? Have install voltmeter ? Suggestion to wash your carburettor. It good to replace the needle and float set, don't buy at workshop .. Buy it at mah motor or weda. After washing and adjusting see if it's help. Washing only around 35$ and the carb set around 60$. If this not helping meaning few thing. Ur spark plug wet or cyl head loose compression .... After the carb wash maybe you can join our DIY and we give it a look before you head down to workshops.

Yes Mudai bro. So i try not to let it die once i manage to push start. Quite troublesome. My volt is good, jus checked a few days back. Okay I'll go for carb wash. Thanks bro.

All right. Hope it's help. I encounter this before but in my case I found my spark plug is wet. So my gcyl head gasket is leaking. I change the CyL head gasket and the cyl head it self. There are few cases solve by wash and rebuild the carburettor
