as in only the last session they focus or all the sessions on a tuesday they will focus?

I only have 2 tuesdays left before TP, so probably next week's.

Only the last session on Tuesday. Cos the instructors gotta arrange the bike for TP in preparation for the next morning so they will be standing around the circuit looking and guiding.

Hi, so I just cleared my Lesson 4 yesterday. When I logged onto the system, I found out that for now I'm able to book:

Theory lesson

+ Class 2b English Defensive Riding Theory lesson 1 (Slot is available on 14 January 2014, 1850hrs-2030hrs)

+ Class 2b English Defensive Riding Theory lesson 2 (Slot is available on 14 January 2014, 2040hrs-2220hrs)

+ Class 2b English Defensive Riding Theory lesson 3 (Slot is available on 15 January 2014, 1850hrs-2030hrs)

+ Class 2b English Theory lesson 1

+ Class 2b English Theory lesson 2

+ Class 2b English Theory lesson 3

+ Class 2b English Theory lesson 4

Practical lesson

+ Class 2b Circuit revision

+ Class 2b Lesson 5

+ e-Trial Test - School Learner

I was told by CDC's CSO that you must clear all DRT lessons first, or else you won't be able to go for Lesson 6. She also mentioned that it is advisable to book the theory lessons early as it is conducted as a mass class, or else you'll have to wait a few months for the next available slot.

So, I was thinking - since for now the available slots for DRT is in 14 January 2014 (Lesson 1, 1850hrs-2030hrs), followed by (Lesson 2, 2040hrs-2220hrs), if you were to book both Theory Lesson 1 and 2 on a same day, won't that make you end up spending 4 hours non-stop? I know there's nothing wrong with going for Theory lessons straight like that, I was just wondering, anyone ever booked for theory lesson and encountered that sort of situation before? :thumb:

Secondly, is that English Theory lesson, what they call, RTT? Correct me if i'm wrong.

Lastly, is it a must to take the e-Trial test?

On a side note, unlike Practical lessons, there isn't any cost for Theory lessons, right?

Yes, you need to clear all DRT first. I did mine all on the same day (morning 2 sessions, break for lunch, afternoon 1 session). It's quite relaxed one so don't worry, but yeah, time consuming. Should end early too, not the full time slot. Usually everybody attends both lessons so if finish lesson 1 earlier can immediately do lesson 2. Same thing for the theory lesson, can clock all in one day and ya, it's RTT. Must take e-trial test and pass before they let you book your actual RTT.

theory lessons are free iirc. at least for the first time.

take your theory all at once otherwise you have to wait a month for the next lesson. here is a tip - i was told the mandarin ones are less full.... not sure how true it is.

some questions before my TP this wednesday.

1. Regarding the 'no braking while turning', means that we cannot even tap rear brake when negotiating a bend?

2. After the last right bend in the circuit and proceeding to the road, when do we need to filter to the right lane? Before zebra crossing or after?

3. Any other minor details that I should know when taking the TP for the first time?

Thanks in advance...

1. They require you to be able to negotiate a bent smoothly without tapping your breaks. You are suppose to slow down before the bend, and maintain speed/throttle while negotiating a bend. So best is not use breaks in the bend. :)

2. Depends on situation.. just don't filter during the zebra crossing or any where with zigzag lines will do if I rememeber correctly.

3. Have an early rest the day before, make sure you bring all the necessary items required, and don't be late:)

If I didn't recall wrongly, should be before - there is some space befote the zigzag line starts.

And becareful while using front brakes. If you brake too hard and the fork dives down = wobbling , 2 points

Stuck at plank... Argh..

one tip a bro shared with me was align with the plank then throttle and go up fast. after that maintain constant throttle and slow down by pressing rear brake. worked for me..

the lane itself naturally widens into the two lanes.. you don't actually need to filter just keep right and you naturally go into the lane.

for wobbling this might be useful: http://class2bnotcrass2b.blogspot.sg/

That blog is really useful in my opinion. Whereas for the lane changing one, I'll decide again when I'm there, ahhaha. Thanks a lot for the link man!

when you reach the junction where you either go straight to go out of CDC or turn right to go back towards nursery you will be on a lane with a straight and right turn arrow. the left most lane. you need to switch to the right lane of the exit path as soon as you get there. cannot switch lanes once you are inside the lane towards the zebra crossing as its a zig zag line there.

for wobbling, i find it usually because not enough speed

for plank... must rev a little harder to keep the engine turning (gyroscope effect) and this will help keep bike balanced.

two key thoughts to have while going on the plank. 1. use rear brake to control speed, don't open and close throttle; 2. focus on pointing the front wheel to the center of the plank to keep from rolling off. don't use your body movement to balance.
