hi all, going to take over a fz6'05 soon.. could somebody advise me abt the basic maintanence? how many KM den change 4T and oil filter? maybe recommended tyres and brake pads? thanks in advance.. my first class 2 bike.. know nuts abt it..

I'll go for BT020 and Z6. Both give good mileage. I'm not a corner freak so i think this 2 suits me most.

 

Brake pad wise, its either Carbon lorraine, EBC or Yamaha OEM. The ranking is as stated, 1st carbon,2nd ebc, lastly 3rd OEM. I'll go for Yamaha OEM, cheaper and easier to find.

BT021 is a good option for tyres , brake pads can get carbon lorraine or EBC , best to go a set of braided hoses too .

tyres maybe can try pilot road2?

brakepad most of us r using OEM(nisin) brakepads as most other brands will just eat ur brake n wear off the diskbrake

thanks for all the reply.. how much is the OEM brakepads? for tyres, any review on metzeler m1 or diablo corsa? cos i seen the forum of sgfazerclub, they said these two also not bad.. bridgestone range like BT020 and BT 021 is it ex than other range?

Tyres for FZ6.

 

Recommend Pilot Sport or Pilot Power. :) Good grip. Decent lifespan.

Yamaha FAZER will b my next bike :)).. i like without the head fairing coz it looks vogue hahaha..... i'm so in love with it.... but got to enrol 4 class 2 first 'sigh.....

i heard from another user of BT021, said grip on wet road is bad...

 

stock FZ1 comes with pilot road and am very happy with its wet road performance. reviews said that pilot road 2 also give very good wet road grip. but have not gotten review from actual user/owner so still adopting to a wait and see attitude...

 

i guess, with the coming year end rainny season, it pays to get better wet weather tyres... :)

touring is tlking bout advantage mah...haha...since its a raining season.mayb go elsewhere...coz from the botton to top of cameron is bout 100km wif lotsa bend.
