i was given a booklet for free servicing for first 1k, 3k and 5k.. but it does not include price of the engine oil, etc Do note that you have to set an appointment with hong leong before you come.. and they are open only during office hrs and half day sat..

I got my FZ1'07 in june this year for 18K OTR (w/ insurance) so now it might be slightly cheaper cos 08 coming out soon.

As katana has mentioned , the price quoted was in apr 2006 . I got mine at 18.5k . Now should have dropped a bit .

i have frens(riding R1/FZ1) telling me that its no use getting a FZ6. the power is too smooth to feel it. they claimed that might as well get a 1L, where u can at least feel the power and feel more like riding a cl2 bike. they also say getting a fz6 might as well get super4 spec 3. at least u feels the power when the vtec kicks in.

 

initially i'ved decided to get fz6 too. but after what they say, my mind swayed...

 

whats ur comments guys? is the 'power feel' that bad for fz6?

based on yr 'friends' theory:

i can tell u, buy 1litre, might as well buy 1100/1300/1400 (BB/haya/ZX14)

tat's e REAL class TWO.

it's pointless when saying 'buy xx (bike), might as well buy XX (bike)'

i'm not saying this b`cos i own a FZ6.

power or not is another issue here, $$ is another.

buying a bike is EASY, maintaining/servicing it is the HARD way.

check how deep yr pocket is b4 deciding on the bike, rem u still in service!

 

well, i rode a S4 before & i koe how it feel to be riding @ a constant of 170km/hr (close to top speed liao), it's tiring for e rider & e bike itself.

not to mention the FZ1, the FZ6 can easily reach 180km/hr COMFORTABLY.

i tested a 200km/hr with 2 side panniers, no pillion.

throttle still have way to go.

& of cos the FZ1 can perform betta, i tested it, THEY smoke mi during Malacca trip.

 

power band for FZ6, well nowadays most 600 need to be 'push' to perform.

anything above 7k rpm on the FZ6, u'll feel the pull.

If power is ur main concern, you shouldn't even consider FZs. Be it 1litre or 600cc. Go for k7, Busa, zx14 , the list goes on.

 

I've owned R1s, and also sub riders of K's and zx12, i was very impressive with the power. However, i realised i dun need them.

 

In singapore, you can't use your power much, or even never. If you wanna bring it over to NSH, how often you do that? What im trying to say here is go for the what you want or need. If its power, go for Hyper tourers ( busa,zx12, zx14), if for best of everything ( R1 08, K7, Zx10 ).

 

Btw, im a proud owner of Fz6 =P No offense to Fz1 riders. I have as much respect to every bike. Just wanna share some info with others.

well as others have posted, i would state a much used term in this forum: different strokes for different folks. riding the fz6 now but i feel that the pickup is just like my cbr400 which i rode last year. the only difference comes after 6-7krpm when the powerband is meatier. personally speaking, i like low end grunt and i was disappointed with my middleweight but i can only blame myself. looking for low end grunt in a middleweight inline 4 engine? lol too bad lor, next year then upgrade to litre bike but i will lose a **** load of money. consider that my lesson in class 2 biking

 

as for being practical about unused power in a litre bike, i have crossed that barrier. ask yourself this question, you only live once. when you grow old, would you look back one day and regret not trying a litre bike when you were young? it's much more difficult to ride one when you're married with kids and you need the money for the little monsters. take everything you read/ hear with a pinch of salt and make your choice

I agree with the rest. But between the FZ1 and the FZ6, if u want power go with the 1 but handling and FC I still like the 6. Having ridden both, I find the 1 is great for distance but the 6 is a dream for city riding.

 

It all boils down to wat u want. Go far, fast or turn a corner w/out much effort. G'luck with your choice. Cum dwn the next LKS and get more feedback from the current riders!

Urmm.. dis very debatable.. Sum prefer the road method, sum the dyno and other the track... final decision is yours.

Eh Bro, ur question very generic leh. Wat's chio to you might not be chio to me! haha.. check the usual brands like Powerbronze, Puig etc. Also, take a look at the price list at the darkside.

End of the day, it still depends on wad you want and how much extra cash can you afford? Power, how much u personally need? If you want more powerful bikes means more money needed. It's as simple as that. It's always good to listen to advice from lots of people, but don't get your decision influenced by them. Go get wad you like can le.

Well... having ridden both the R1 and the FZS600, I can say that you'll find it easier to live with the 600 in town, but you'll have more fun with the 1000 once you head up North.

 

A 1000 will always have more punch than a 600. How much power one needs is subjective. I've always preferred a 1000. Even in SG traffic, I can honestly tell you that I find a 600's acceleration sluggish. No offence to 600 riders, it's just IMHO. I don't like to drop gear when I wanna make a quick overtake. Prefer to just twist my wrist.

 

Going up steep twisties like Genting or Cameron, I would still prefer the 1 over the 6. Less down/up-shift effort, and more focus on the ride. 600s just don't have the grunt to make a sustained climb on one or two gear ratios.

Ya if let me choose 1 or 6, i will still choose 1. Cause i prefer the power of a one litre. LoLx. But if you want power, then there are more bikes that are more powerful than fz1. So you make the decision bahZ.
