Hello.. sorry to interrupt your conversation again ya...

But why does my meter area makes a zzzznnnnnngggg kind of noise?

Sometimes have, sometimes dun have... I'm not sure if it has something to do with me not turning on the headlights...

Something i should worry about?

Hi fellow fazer riders,

I got 2 questions which I need help on. (again)

1)

When u put ur bike on centre stand and spin the tyres, is there a tiny, weeny "zzzzzssss' sound? Like it seems to be brushing against something?

I put it to neutral and the tyre spins ever so slightly, so I presume the brake disc is not pressing against brake pads. (Not Brake piston jammed) But I did notice that one side of the brake pad is flatter than the other.

Do u ppl encounter the same sound also?

2) The right mirror vibrates more than the left. It not that bad lah, but the difference is when I clutch in, I can see the behind car's number plate. When i engage the cluch, the mirror vibrates and cant see the car's details.

Overall, the vibrations of my bike is still acceptable, just that there's a irritiating buzzing sound when the revs get higher at lower gears. Comes and goes.

I riding a Gen 1 FZS1000.

Thanks!

my rear doesn't seems to roll-on freely when put to main-stand, but the brake disc is not brushing against the pads either.

for yr mirrors case, try tightening the screws. mayb they're loose.

Might be your wheel bearings.

Try moving/shaking your wheel abt the axle, see if there's freeplay.

The brake pads almost always lightly contacts the disc. When you release your brake lever, there is no spring or opposing force to totally unclamp the caliper/pads from the disc, so it just reverts out to the minimal contact position.

But don't worry too much. The sintered pads are made of a much softer material and will not eat into the discs.
