I am not joking... i have some "scars" on the fender from the soft forks.

I probably need a more rugged bike... a bigger bike.

Like the Concours you are after!!!

Or a GS??

Hmmm....

GS or GS adventure?

GS is about 44k OTR

Adventure is another 4k more

all prices depending what options are on the bike

traction control

abs

ecu

electronic suspension

tyre pressure sensors

etc

the day i got the tiger was the day i test rode the gs.

2 up, it has decent pwr for an air cooled boxer in our humid weather conditions. but the suspension was a major turn off. it was way way toooo soggy. i didnt want to spend 45k and then another 5k for suspension. I dont even know if they can be replaced by aftermkts ones as its using its unique paralever forks.

but if off road is your intension, go for it!!

Its has a huge amount of accessories available.

So prob set aside 40k for the bike and 20k for the accessories.

it has the built quality that will last.

Oh yes, the annoying indicators are located on respective handlebar sides.

press left button to indicate left and button on right side of handlebar to indicate right.

But im sure most get used to it.

Coming to the concours......30k otr......electric adjustable windscreen, shaft driven, std boxes will fit a XL full face, boxes comes out in 2secs with a turn of the key, KIPASS keyless starting, tyre pressure sensor, glove box, quite a no. of the parts from the zzr1400.....omg.....I shall stop here.....

Most people go through life following the crowd.

Others think for themselves.

They go their own way.

The suspension is set up for a big trailie. Otherwise, off road, how would it soak up bumps and humps?

Sounds to me like you're a sportbike person! :D

Since you like that firm suspension. Just like me. :D

Yup! ive read many gs reviews where they take them offroad and travel at 50-70km/h for hours and yet have no bum aches after. But the Gs being a good all round bike, I guess, the suspension is just not for me.

Ure right! Im a performance bike person :p

The setup has to be right to give me the confidence to push myself and the bike. If its not, Im hesistant. I prefer firm with predictable feedback, not soggy lumpy, all over the place kind of feel. Going hard into a corner and getting thrown about when ure leaned over is not for the faint hearted.:giddy:

For more facts and info, try http://www.triumph.com....

oppsss..i mean http://www.triumph.co.uk

Performance (Measured at crankshaft to DIN 70020)

Maximum Power 114bhp at 9,400 rpm

Maximum Torque 74ft.lbf at 6,250 rpm

Cant compare with the fz1 of course, usually inline 3 will have a lower output than inline 4 :o

So far, Ive managed to hit about 230 on my own.

Once with the side boxes, full tank of fuel, main stand, pillion, tank bag and touring screen on, 200 is still not a problem. But it does start to get a bit flightly with the front.

Only reason why i am comtemplating the GS is the size of the bike.

You have not seen me on the Fazer!! It looks TINY under me....

1.88cm and 110kg...it looks like a Bear sitting on a bunny!!! Wahahahha

Only realised when i saw picture of myself in my rides..... and everyone was kind enough not to mention to me.....

The Concours is another bike under consideration. I like the Sports Tourer feel and look!! And like your said.... dunno what else to say... slurp slurp

I will have to resist the Fazer Mantra.........

MUST NOT RECITE!!!!!:giddy: :giddy:

NO TO...."buy buy buy!!!"

It's sort of a trailie too!

i looked at the gs, tiger, fz and concours before final consideration.

fz was excellant bang for buck but a few agts i went to did warn me about the welding in the main frame?

The Tiger, with its mile-munching ability and sheer dependability, has won a legion of fans the world over. It lives in a genuinely different space to other bikes in its class, excelling in three distinct areas – it scratches; it tours and it commutes. Two-up, you’ve got a bike that comfortably devours miles of tarmac thanks to the relaxed riding position, spacious seat, supple suspension and tractable torquey engine. Back in the city the commanding view really comes into its own, while the wide bars make tight manoeuvres child’s play.

and also the ABS. which i have been using daily :cheeky:

chirping the wheels along side annoying taxi drivers is another effective method of getting them to give way :bounce:

U cant compare to my boss , who is roughly same weight as u but ride a vespa . :D

Anyway , my colleague rode a GS , to me , its too imposing as m too short for it . But i do realise the rear suspension is too soft . But its good for riding on roads in Lim Chu Kang area .

GIVI Touring windscreen for FZ1 2006 onwards for sale - $90

so how accurate are their verdicts on this bike? ur 1st hand experience pseee..... :)

its an excellant all rounder. its like the gs but more road focused.

compared to the vara and v-strom, i will choose the tiger for the torque anytime. spacious with loads of leg room. i can finally stop at the lights with my legs almost straightened, previous bike i had to lift the feet a fair bit to get them on the pegs.

the trip to kl was great. it didnt seem that far or long and i was upset that it ended so quickly. overtaking at speeds of 150-180 were decent even with a pillion. wet weight with abs my estimate, its about 210-215kg, but because of the height and the width of the bars, its pretty agile. with boxes i still can lane squeeze without busting taxi driver mirrors.

are u looking at getting one?
