Hi, I also riding Gen 1 FZS1000 03 model.

The vibrations starts to go from 3500rpm to ard 4500 rpm.

If you rev over the 4500, things will smooth out.

I dun know why also, but its very irritating. If you felt your fairings, the buzz is also there, but the worst is the handle bar, some kind of high freqeuency vibrations.

The prob is at less than 3500 rpm, the bike is barely making any real power, just puttering along.

But more than 500rpm, will overshoot the speed limit very fast.

Any1 riding the same model FZS1000? Wats ur cruising speed and rpm on highway?

:)

Nobody mentioned anything about their pick of tyres?

What would most of you go for?

1000cc or sports tourer category?

price diff is abt 20%, might as well get the best?

I wonder if the prices listed are in S$?

And where from?

Eh bro, basically I compiled 3 month issues of the BIKE mag, summarised the test results and put it up here .

Cos to put every thing word for word will take me hours.

Personally, I would take the Sports Touring option. Bcos my main criteria is tyre life.

My current BT-014 is good, but I dun like it when it rains. Also, I am a 'unsporty' rider, and the current tyres' centre is running botak, while the sides are real thick,.

So to me, it;'s a waste of $$$ to buy the more exp sports tyres w/o utilising them the way they are designed, and also not to my main criteria of tyre life.

The Diablo Rosso is considered a Sport tyre? Or sport touring tyre?

Looks mighty expensive if it's just a mere sport touring tyre....

Personally I'll go with sport tyres. More grip is always better. I rather change tyres than change fairings or other bits.

Exactly my same thoughts.

Im not concerned about wear, grip is no.1 priority.

the M3 has been out for awhile, I wonder if the Rosso being newer has improvements worth $15 more?

Anyone with personal feedback?

Most people go through life following the crowd.

Others think for themselves.

They go their own way.

Did the previous owner use any bar-ends(balancer) on the fat bar?

a heavy bar end will eat-up a lot of vibrations cause by the engine

fat bar are light and strong feel better in control for some but they are normally mean for dirt bikes not street nor sport

best is to change back to orginal handle with orginal yamaha bar ends (heavy so not so much vibrations) will cure a lot.

(motivation sell those stainless steel type which I think is best as all my previous bikes is fitted with them and even my kup now is using-just my 2 cents) :p

Any effect if you put/wrap a rubber sheet as a washer/grommet at the handlebar clamp to act as a vibration damper?

All foreigners entering M'sia must fill in immigration cards

By Chan Eu Imm, Channel NewsAsia | Posted: 15 August 2008 1444 hrs

SINGAPORE: All foreigners entering Malaysia must fill in immigration embarkation cards starting Friday. This includes Singaporeans who're entering Malaysia via the Causeway and Second Link.

The move is applicable to all entry points into the country after the cards were re-introduced as part of enhanced security measures.

The Malaysian government did away with the process on January 20, but re-instated it.

Customs officials have stationed an additional 23 staff at the Causeway to help distribute the cards. But it remains to be seen if the new ruling will significantly slow down traffic.

A new version of the card is expected by mid-September, which will include a requirement for visitors to clearly state their address while in Malaysia. - CNA/vm
