Hi guys, sorry abt a noob question here.

If I wan to buy & fixed a aftermarket exhaust (slip-on), do I still need to fix (eg PC3 etc) in order to fully utilise the exhaust? or jus fix & use, no extras needed?

No problem...plug n play for slip-ons. After market air filter and airbox mod will be better... PC3 or 5 not really neccessary. A.i.S must be removed and block to cure back-fire. De-cat included. Cheers

i will never buy an arai helmet next helmet change due.their parts are flimsy yet very expensive.one accidental drop you will see something flew out! but i had dropped my shoei from the fuel tank's height and rolled a few rounds on the floor, nothing happened leh:P. yet i ever heard seller at his shop claimed its the best helmets in the world to a interested rider who was using old shoei FF. ARai and shoei are no doubt good helmet in the market. but i feel it's the shoei that's got a higher quality in everything.and washing of cushion paddings, shoei is very simple and easy. Arai you need to wash it more frequently so that you would not forgot how to take out those paddings.

After using arai for almost 4 years and when i switch to shoei J-force 3 and X-11 i will not go back to arai again, although i m still keeping my arai ram-3 for pillion usage.

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

Yeah spot on! for slip-on, PC should be good to have, but not a must to have.

Personally, I think the following 2 mods are not recommendable mods if running without a power commander.

- Decat

- Smaller sub throttle plates (not enuff fuel intake to boost mid range)

Don't ask me why. I ran without pc for 1 yr after decat, and signs of lean mixture was spotted when I changed the spark plugs. Don't play play..

What is "A.i.S" huh?:confused:How to remove & block?

Siaoster also mentioned regarding the "pop" sound after we closed throttle..

If I dun care & just live with the "pop" sound does it have any impact to the bike?

I use to own an AGV GP-Pro, it's super light and the padding is superb..really regret selling it :(.

The build quality is ok but can be improved on.

I am using a LV , its quite a popular exhaust amoung fz1,

i got the shorty because i have side box.

akra and arrow are too long and i worry it will hit onto my side box lolx

gianelli seems to be die-ing off, Akra too ex for me, arrow too long for me...

i may wana try akra and arrow one day if i manage to find a good deal for the exhaust :thumb:

Decat will make your engine runs cooler....it will not lean the mixture.. whereas aftermarket air filter + airbox mod will lean out the "already lean" stock mixture. Backfire will hurt the engine and burn out the packings in aftermarket exhaust. AIS or most ppl call it as " pair system" is for emission requirement.Locate on the top cam cover of the engine. Need to remove it and block it with plates without the snorkel on top of it, A.K.A Block-off plates.

dun listen to the shop 100%.. read online to determine what you want.. i think what you are looking at (akra/arrow) is at the right direction. i have been looking out for these 2 for my fz6 as well..
