you should travel down to Ubi/Kaki Bukit area... its a small "country" of automotive repair bay, accessories, show-room etc. :thumb:

Hi pichudot,

Would you please upload the picture here after you had shown(meet) farish. Would like to add side boxes to my FZ1N that wouldn't be too wide for lane splitting or too big/ugly on a naked FZ1. Are the side boxes round as I had seen them once on a 09 yellow FZ1N along AYE a couple months back. The side boxes look very small compare to the Juniors or V35. Thanks and congrats on your new ride.

today farish chat wif me via phone in the evening...

din even wan to tell him wad items i had added...

i jus wan to lure him out for rides / suppers / drinks / blah blah blah... hehehehe! :D

bro, nothing in the world is perfect...

u wan pretty looking ones, u have to forgo the thin-ness...

u wan thin-ness, u have to take up ugly-ness...

no offense to that white fz6n that i alws saw near my office, that is not a very pretty looking side box (for me, i dun even call it panniers)...

but i think he must be some kind of dispatch rider or wad, hence the small box comes in handy...

bro, sorry i was busy for the whole freaking day...

saw ur sms but got no time to reply...

also saw many other bros' sms, also didn't reply all...

anyway yesterday evening i had arranged to transport my sw-motech racks to my private workshop...

i took around 4 freaking hours just to set up my sw-motech racks and it's not full rack set yet, i only managed to get side panniers rack up...

also, i had stripped the whole tail out in the process and re-route some of the wires and figured out the locations of many components as well... a fruitful experience i would say...

in the end beside getting my side panniers rack up, today i also got my led tail light, stabilizer, asv levers, strobe pole led & HIRs up... very fruitful eh...

in the end no choice all my local touring plan are being dragged backwards and i even had to forgo some and go for more important ones...

i'll reply ur sms shortly... :)

For FZ1 front brake pads, i would recommmend EBC HH sintered pads about $60/- for one set plus fixing at Bikeworkz. For the front brake, sintered brake pads will give you more braking power and feel. Other good brands are Braking ($60) & Versah but must get the sintered brake pads. Kelvar or organic pads can use for the rear brake(about $30 to $40 each). Heard OEM Yamaha brake pads about $80. :thumb::thumb:

Newfren pads you are using are what type of compound??

Ok need not upload the picture then since the 'FZ6N' fixed them for practical reason and looks does not matter to him. The FZ1S does have more options as even a top box looks fine because of the front cowling.

Would like to join you guys someday on a trip up North.....well with a backpack I suppose. I have so far only made 2 trips to JB over the last 10 years once on my scooter for ramly burgers and once to attend a wake in a passener car. I am a real suaku on touring and may join for a short trip if there is one.

Please continue to liven up the thread.

anywhere else i can get the EBC brake pads? i can change myself.

newfren pads, not sure. i think shd b semi sintered. 1 set cost ard $24. full set will set me back for near $80. they have fully sintered pads but those r for racing use. the one i'm using is good enough for all applications even in wet weather.

anyway, anyone had encountered brake pads rubbing on the rotors while rotating the wheels? the front wheel of mine got a hard time rotating freely. its like stuck like that. n that happen only to steel braided brake hose. rubber hose, no prob like these.
